Im not sure if the manual is wrong or fuel gauge is broken

Book says 55l tank but with an quarter tank left i fill up and 32liters is all it takes?

So either 45l tank or somethings not right here?

Reserve is part of the tank.

Rather drive it 20km past 0, then ask for a fill.

Still 23l left for space on a 1/4 doesnt seem accurate

Not entirely.

Remember the reserve doesn't make out part of the gauge.
So of the let's say 55L, 5L should not reflect on the gauge. So in essence you gauge will be 50L, but the tank takes 55L. This all depends on how big your reserve is.

10L reserve - then 45l for Fuel gauge.
So if you on 1/4 tank - its 0.25*45 = 11.25L
+ 10L reserve = 21.25L.
So possible that you can only fill up 32L.
Also, is it first stop?

Also could very well be that the fuel pump sits inside the fuel tank and steals a few of those 55 litres. Depends how they measure it and state it.

Apparently reserve is 2 gallons so 7.5 litres. So you should get at least another 75km AFTER the light comes on.

Thats a big reserve :x

With my previous car i could drive to PE from Mossel Bay and it would take half a tank

This car goes past half mark but if you guys say the reserve doesnt count(7.5l) on the gauge then it should be giving me a little better consumption?i mean then the tank shows 48l of usage?

Not really. I regularly do 70km on my bike's reserve which is only a 17 litre tank total.

Car (VW) the light comes on at 60km but it counts down and is part of the gauge. I've driven it to zero by doing over 70km many times.

It's meant to get you to the next town on the long road.

I remember my old DRZ, no fuel gauge. Drove the thing empty to set a mark. What fun.

But is it US Gallons (3.8L) or Imperial Gallons (4.5L) ?????

My Mitsubishi Lancer has a 50L tank and the light/reaches Empty symbol at 10L left .

Geez R80k is a properly good price for a 2012 Focus. Is the car "straight"?

Mileage is rather high for a just a 4yr old car. Best to get all checks done.

1.6 77kw motor is a bit "pap" but not stressed at all....all round good car.
