I want to setup and Internet Cafe in a container.
I want to start out with 2 PCs for clients and 1 admin PC. Services offered would be Internet, Telephone Calls (Local and International), Fax and Scan

Which ISP would be the best to use?
How many GB of Bandwith per month would be required?
Are there any Free Internet Cafe Software I can use?
Would VOIP be cheaper to use for Calls, Locally and Internationlly?
What is the best way to connect 2 PC's and 1 Admin to internet?
Any recommendations on the type of (Low cost but effiecent) PC's could be used?

Any recommendations are welcome.

If anyone can assist me, it would be highly appreciated.

Thanking you in advance.

ADSL connectivity - depends on your budget 384k or 4 Mb and if Telkom can install in your area otherwise iBurst or Wireless iSP
ISP - Afrihost.co.za 10G = R290/month (if the special is still on)
How many GB of Bandwith per month would be required?
Depends on how much your users download

I see JustPC.co,za from Cape Town were selling refurbished Dell with Pentium3 933 Mhz for R480 with
screen,mouse,keyboard - I would rather go for a P4 for R1500
Miro.co.za alse sells refurbished Dell plus may others

Where is the container? Is there a phone line in it? Will Telkom put a telephone line in the container?

heh good question...
anyway how many gB a month? hmm, well if you block all downloads like rapidblair, torrents, and newservers, and then also block those silly bandwidth hungry services like tubeyou and bookface, then maybe 5 gig a month would just just cut it. block all those and i predict unhappy and fewer clients. so the way i see it you're left with no choice but to go for an uncapped bussiness account. the cheapest i've seen goes for just under R3000 a month

I dont think people will come into the cafe and download from news servers and torrents???? If you charge for data used per session that will prevent people from going beserk.....

Do some research first.

I suggest you talk to Internet Café owners and see what their services are used for. You will find that it has nothing to do with downloads, but rather e-mail, school projects, e-filing, etc.

Thanks to all

Thank to all for your help, it is truly appreciated and your advice is being used.

Got another question or two, I know you guys can help me out.

Which is more cost effective and reliable
3G/Wireless - (I am considering this as I wont have to pay a line rental and can always upgrade to ADSL in next 3 months once business has been become know in area)
ADSL ?

Next question: I want to provide a digital photo printing service as well (as there is none within a 20km radius) and I need advise on what type of printer I should use.

As usual I need something basic and affordable.

Looking forward to your awesome advice.
