Need Advice Regarding Internet Speed

Vary the speedtest server that you are using. Many hosted speedtest servers in South Africa especially in Slaapstad are not very good at measuring high speed as they are installed on a VM attached at 1gbs. And they don't see the point in upgrading to 10gbs. Also would help if they put those servers on bbr.
Use afrihost, MTN and Vodacom as examples.
I have tested on 5 different speed test sites. Just a quick note though frogfoot set up a connection where i could plug straight into the ont and connect to them via a special ip adress they set up, they ran the speed test om my pc over teamviewer and boom goes to 900/900 but as soon as i go to the normal connection through ncloud i get nowhere that speed.

Do you have backhaul packet loss on ncloud? Frogfoot is obviously fine.

To what i can see i am no expert, i dont have any packet losses. I also used cloudflare speed test and it also says no packet loss

Thank you i managed to connect straight to the ONT and the speed test shows the same only managing to get 390/390 so thats nowhere close to what i should get. To answer your question about why do i need such a fast line: i can ask a guy driving a porsche why he drive that. Point im.making here is i am not getting what i am paying for and also not getting any real support from someone that knows what he is doing. They want me to pay a cancelation fee if i want to move now,but they do not provide me with the service i pay for. What are my options? Ombudsman?

Don’t be defensive about the line speed question- I’m trying to help you and it helps me understand.

If you’re getting the same speed directly connected ask them to ‘reset your port’ - failing everything else, suck it up and realise they’re a kuk ISP, wait out the cancellation period, write them a politely worded email telling them why you’re cancelling and move to another ISP.

Life is too short to get your knickers in a twist over such things.

Cheers, good luck and have a good weekend.

If Cool Ideas is available in your area I can recommend them as an ISP since they have two very knowledgable senior people available on MyBB who are very happy to work with you to solve such problems- you will still need to log tickets, etc but if first line are unable to help, they are more than happy to roll up their sleeves.

I don’t think they’re a member of ISPA.
