Hi everyone,

I've been trying for the last few hours to connect a D-Link DIR-605L router to a VKOM WNL108 MWEB Wireless Router, and I'm not getting anywhere

Is there anyone outhere that knows how to configure these 2 routers.

The VKOM WNL108 is setup normally with a WEP (64bits) password and DHCP server enabled.

D-Link DIR-605L is setup as Access Point wireless mode (other values: Wireless Router, WDS, WDS+AP, WDS+Router), but I'm not sure if this is correct.

Any help would be much appreciated.

What are you trying to achieve?
If you want to connect them together then use a network cable?

I believe you have to set the D-Link to WDS+AP (Wireless Distribution Service with Access Point). That, of course, is when you want to connect the two wirelessly.

I want to connect them wirelessly, basically extend my home network.

Thanks! That's exactly what I want to do... I've also set the SSID of my 2nd router to the SSID of the 1st router.

After hours of experimentation, MWEB confirmed that the VKOM WNL108 does not support WDS (which is the only bridging mode supported by the D-Link DIR605L).

Hi Vohligh,
If WDS is not supported then you will have to connect them via cable.
Cable while it may be tiresome will give you better speed, reliability and security. I put a post up about security here
