Hi, i know DirectX 10 is around the corner, but i need something better then my current vista, i will be planning on upgrading to Vista and getting a Dx 10 GFX card, so just keep that in mind.

My current rig is:

Microsoft Media Center 2005
Pentium 4 3.2GHz (HT enabled)
Maxtor 6Y160M0 [Hard drive] (163.92 GB)
ST3120022A [Hard drive] (120.03 GB)
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS
ATI Radeon 9800 XT gfx card
Abit IC7-MAX3 Motherboard
Logitech MX518 Gaming-Grade Optical Mouse
Logitech Z5500 5.1 Speakers
Microsoft Keyboard with FingerPrint Reader
1GB RAM
the case is: ThermalTake Xaser III VM3000A Skull Case
It comes with 7 fans but that isnt enough, any help on that?

Thats about it

So what should i upgrade, and if so what must i upgrade too?

I doubt anyone will be able to help you with a DX10 card as I don't think there are any out yet?

Get a Core 2 Duo processor (Intel), which will require a new motherboard, and upgrade to 2GB RAM.

I will wait tell 1st Quater of 2007, as i will get a DX10 gfx card, which will require me to upgrade my motherboard and then i can add a Code 2 duo pro then....

But for now i will upgrade ram, what do u suggest i get? i want to get rid of my 1GB, as i got another pc that can use it.

So what should i get, so that i can have 2GB of ram from nothing? The best only :D

ya i agree with killadoob... wait till next year coz thats when core 2 duo prices will come down and will give you more choice on the gfx cards as they will be more out. you system is still great for gaming and as a result it would be pointless

Whats better,

The GeGube ATi Radeon X1300 256MB AGP8x

or

The 7600GS?

www.zones.co.za

awesome prices man o man cheaper than suppliers alot of the time

i mean they have a 7950x2 for 5k

not one of the suppliers i am with have it for less than 5800.00 ex vat including over 6k

Do you know where i can get the 7600gs?

Thanks

dude dont wast your money now man...i know something new is better but just wait for the dx10 cards

ram....well no use buying ddr400 ram know when your new MB wil only support ddr2 533 and up....so idd say leave it like it is and wait....its not like you gonna play dx10 dame now....so wait....

GOOD COMES TO THOSE WHO WAITS...:D

digit that 7600gs is not much better than a 6600gt which is not much better than 9800

so your going to spend money for 10% extra performance

dont make no sense buddie
