Not sure if there are any excel fundi's out there that can maybe give me some pointers.

I've tried googling for a solution but can seem to find what i'm looking for.

I'm attempting to create a spreadsheet that works as follows.

I want to put in a figure, lets say R100 000, and then multiply it by 0.175%, this would then give me a total of R175.00. I would then like to select options for a discount applied from a drop down list, and this is where I kind of get stuck.

Has anyone got any links or advice on how this must be done?

Thanks

Hi there

Here are the steps :

Select the cell where you want the drop-down list.
On the Data menu, click Validation, and then click the Settings tab.
In the Allow box, click List.
Then click "Source" and then highlight the cells of your values in the dropdown.I used A1-A5 and just put in the numbers 1,2,3,4,5 in there.

Yes for above. Data Validation is very useful if you want to create a template for low end users to work on. That way you can design the template to eliminate fiddling and force them to choose from predetermined options.
