Hi All

I am currently with Mweb 4Mb uncapped, I am looking for a new ISP as I am currently unhappy with Mweb as they are having an issue getting WoW to work properly on their network. I need to start looking for a new ISP and need some suggestions. I am not a big down-loader I have a separate line for that, I need an ISP that will give me the max up time on WoW and decent latency. I want the account to be uncapped and 4Mb please do not try pitch capped accounts to me they will not suite my needs. also shaped/unshaped doesn't really seem to make a difference in my life. I have currently been testing an Afrihost uncapped account, seems to be okay just not sure how the support is from them and how often they go down, if anyone has any other suggestions for me to try please let me know what they are.

Thank you in advance,

Openweb GOLD on the Altech backbone is what you are looking for.

Any WoW players here on Openweb Lite\Axxess Uncapped or Afrihost Uncapped? If so can you post your latency in raid & main cities and if you get pike spikes or not, These are the 3 ISP's I'm looking at changing to, as stated above I don't really download on this line so with Openweb I shouldn't fall into the 20% threshold however if there is a support tech for Openweb on this forum could you please PM me where the threshold starts as in how many GB before I drop into the 20% threshold.

Plugg.

If you arent a massive downloader, go there. I have had the best pings and lowest latency with them so far, and I have accounts with MWEB, Afrihost, Axxess and Webafrica.

Hi all

I have always been a prepaid subscriber but want to convert and would like advice.
I have at the moment a 384 line and use approximately between 4 and 5 gig a month @ R70 per gig.So if I can get it cheaper by having a contract with a service provider i will be able to up my line speed to 512/1024 with the saving I gain from having a adsl account.
I have been searching on the web and have found the following that looks reasonably priced:-

1) Afrihost capped silver 10 Gig package for R190.
2) Webafrica Home connect 10GB......2GB peak and 8GB off peak R149.
If anyone can comment on these two packages or suggest a better deal i will be truly gratefull.

there are a few minor differences. You can see it on their site.

One Example they don't offer you a [email protected] email account with the R19 offer, but then we have gmail, hotmail, yahoo..... Offering that free..

Thanks so much @Venomous will have a look at their website as I do not have a great knowledge of ADSL, I am as John Robbie describes himself technically handicapped

as they want you to pay them monthly:

suggestion:
sign up for 1GB
pay them for that
if your happy pay them a few extra rand.
Should your net runout you can then call them & ask to add another GB
or if you time it right so that there's a lil left you email them to add more as you'll have a credit on your account.

& if you don't like it make sure to cancel before they send you an invoice for next month & contract is over....

The GBs you add during the month will not effect you min due, it will stay at 1GB & you top up when you want. Unless you select say min 5GB/month min.
