Hi guys, I needs some help over here man. My housemate spilled coffee over my laptop, which is not, needless to say, defunct.
This really came at a bad time as I had an unforeseen expense that is going to take me a few months to recover from.
Please can someone with the time and inclination point me in the right direction.
The thing is, I'm finding this research into a replacement bewildering. Too many models, brands and specs out there. So, below, I can tell you kinda what I had and hope like hell someone can tell me, “go to this store, ask for xxxx laptop and give them your credit card.
Budget R 8000
Was an Asus but any brand will do with the least chance of going in for repairs for its lifetime.
i 5 processor - I think this is a must have, or faster, the i 5 is already to s low for my liking.
HDMI
WiFi
Optical drive
Intel dual core processor
Touch screen – Now this I loved but it looks like a touch screen adds a significant amount to the price and I’ll have to do without it, if necessarily.
I don't know what the processor speed or RAM was, but if it helps, I stream movies from it to my media player and it needs to be fast enough to do that.
Camera for Skype calls.
I don't even know the display size as long it is the “kinda” standard one people normally buy.
I don't know if the above is enough to go by but it’s the best I’ve got.
