Need some opinions

Hey guys,

I recently recovered my blog (which broke during a WP upgrade). I decided to redo the whole look and add some extra features. Think it looks more like a website than a blog now. :D

Anyway, I'd appreciate it if you could scout around and check it out. I need some opinions on what to change and I want to know whether the site displays right on your browsers and on your screen resolutions. Critics are very welcome.

Upon quick inspection, a couple of things I noticed:
  • The blog categories (just below the page header) read quite difficult - black text on dark-brown background is not a good idea.
  • The content carousel scrolls a bit too fast - I can barely read a sentence of the summary before it scrolls.
  • The "RDB's blog" logo doesn't quite fit the look of the rest of the site.
Other than that it's not too bad!

First thing I noticed immediately, No Ads! :p
Other than that the site looks great. Great job, I will subscribe to your RSS.
PS:I have written a few articles about Google services(adsense etc) and products for webmasters, checkout my bio page for the link.

You may also want to check out Michael’s Login Lockdown plugin which will prevent attackers trying to brute force their way in. Failed login attempts are recorded and after a set amount of failed logins, it blocks an IP range for 1 hour by default.

The logo was just quickly generated, guess it won't do. I'll create a new one in a few. Will change the font of those links. Yeah, I've no adverts up yet. :)

Nice. Your thumbnails and headings look a little too cropped though, - and randomly so. I'd look into that.

Yeah, but if you hover over the carousel it stops. ;)

OMG! You have a header with navigation and everything! (I didn't notice it until I used the mouse to select all the text) You gotta sort out those colours!!

Lastly, if you're going to offer translations, follow through. The semi-automatic translation doesn't work.

Didn't notice it until now. I am still working with the translations. It should be working soon.

I haven't changed the logo yet as it is not done, but it should be good to go in a few. I think I should also make some changes to my styles sheet. There are a few things I'm not happy with.

The navigation is too dark, but otherwise it has quite a nice feel...
The scroller is on manual using FF.
