Had a quick look at your 'tour' on the TivoZA site - what functionality is lost by using the Tivo in SA? (series record)
All the official TiVo functionality is there, including proper "Season Pass" functionality for all channels. The TivoZA images comes with many of the TiVo hacks installed providing a web interface, support for streaming recordings, ftp & telnet support, etc.
If you run
nanVue you have the added advantage of being able to upload video's of any format onto the TiVo. nanVue includes direct support for simply dragging and dropping files or links (e.g. Youtube, Google videos) which will result in the file being automatically converted and uploaded to the TiVo. The other advantage is that it allows you to download your TiVo recordings and automatically convert them into another format for archiving, viewing on a mobile phone or on a portable video player (e.g. iPod, PSP, Zune, etc).
How does one update the EPG and how often must this be done?
The EPG is updated automatically. You can specify what time, how often and how many days worth of guide data (upto 30 days) you wish to have downloaded.
If a network card is added, can it update the EPG automatically?
Yip, the EPG will also be automatically updated when connecting via the built-in modem or when connected to your PC via a serial cable. As thisgeek said, you can upload the EPG manually but this is only recommended if you don't have internet access at home. For full details on all the networking options, including wireless telephone extensions, have a look at the "
Connectivity" guide.
What about a wireless network - can this be configured?
Yip. Keep in mind that when connecting via wireless you may have trouble streaming your recording to a PC/xbox but you should still be able to upload/download recordings and view them once the transfer has completed.
If i have a PVR I assume i can record on both the Tivo and the PVR on different channels at the same time ?
Correct

For information on combining the TiVo and the DSTV PVR, have a look at the "
Tivo with MCA PVR" thread.
