Need to buy a router

Just to let you know that we also currently have enough stocks of the D-Link DSL2760U in Cape Town you can have the unit @R519.00 excl vat if you prefer.
going to bed now. PM me if I can be of assistance.

Can anyone tell me the advantages of the D-Link DSL2760U that make it more expensive than the Intellinet router or the TP-LINK W8960N....?

Excellent price in comparison to other suppliers. I would probably pay more for better/faster warranty swap-out, though. Going by the countless posts/threads of complaints about Esquire's after-sales service, which end up being deleted so as to censor Esquire, it seems your low pricing makes one have to compromise for poor after-sales service. Prove me wrong, I look forward to the day I see other forumites praising Esquire's after-sales service, as they do the other suppliers. :)

Does that censorship really happen? Feeling very naive - was going to make my first ever Esquire purchase, but now having second thoughts... rather sticking with PM!

I agree with you but we can't all afford to pay that extra cash, in case the product breaks and needs to be replaced. I haven't bought anything from Esquire yet so can't comment on their after sales services but they have been very helpful on the forum with specials and advice...

Unfortunately it does/did happen. One can't agree with censorship, but it probably would have been a nightmare sorting out the 40+ forumites who had complaints in said thread which was deleted. There were about 120+ replies. Then suddenly, *poof*, vanished into thin air. It seems like they need the business from MyBb end users.

But I will agree that their pricing is very good, and they have helped out us forumites. There shouldn't be much concern buying products that tend to not break. Esquire/Mahomed does put a lot of effort in, but unfortunately their employees do not put effort into after sales service/warranty so it's almost like his hard work gets declared null and void. Esquire and I have been chatting - he called me out for being hypocritical by mentioning Esquire's poor after-sales service, and then mentioning that I waited 4 weeks for swap out on a set of Creative speakers from another supplier. I explained to him that the difference is that the problem was not at supplier level (i.e. Esquire's level), but at the supplier's distributor/warranty-handling agents' level. I have asked him to take some lessons from companies like Rectron/PM/Frontosa regarding after-sales service, and to prove me wrong by me starting to see forumites with good things to say about Esquire's after-sales service. Unfortunately at the moment they are far and few. The majority are censored.

I have addressed the warranty issues here http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/336958-Best-Hardware-Software-dealer-in-Pretoria?p=6178556&viewfull=1#post6178556

we cannot go back and turn the clock around but can only go forward and continue delivering better that is why we seen that even in the worst of times like last year we still grew by 15 % in revenue and 12% in profit where others have either closed down or merged, and the projection for this year is to grow by another 20% in revenue and 15% in profit

Is the D-Link DSL-2760U a South African specific model or is it called something else overseas, because I can't seem to find any reviews/info pages on it...?

I checked the websites and I think you right, it is a South African specific model I found a Russian site that has that model but not populated with data on it
the South African website Dlink.co.za seems to down as well

Could you please explain why "that thread" was deleted?

The best for any networking product. I have mentioned it several times now. Local telephonic support, weekdays 08h00 - 22h00. Go and buy it already. ;)

Lol... I know you've mentioned it, just wondering why nothing works on their site? Can't even get to the contact us page for a number... ;)

Their website is terrible - as with many hardware manufacturers unfortunately. But yea, as Pot said - their telephone support is solid.

Can you please clarify the situation?
