Neighbour Killing my Internet Connection

Okay, so 2014 came and I was finally nice and granted my neighbour on the same property access to Wifi password... :whistle: No cost to her at all.

Needless to say 2 days later and my connection has been shaped by 50%. I have asked her to go easy on downloads and the times she downloads, but doesn't look the discipline to my plea is reaching her on the interweb.

I have a Billion 7300W wireless router and looking at some sort of program that will grant me access from my side just to throttle certain ports or if possible users. I don't want to cut off the feed or change the password or now go back 2 days later and restate the terms.

Any solution in regards to a .exe file for a quick fix would be awesome!! Please help a man out! :p
 
You can enable static IP and mac filter then she won't be able to connect without the new settings and makes QOS easier.
 
For **** sakes. Nobody follows the rules anymore :mad:

Anyway, no there isn't really a quick fix for this. Either get a proper router/firewall solution (e.g. a Mikrotik router) so you can apply proper QoS or change your wifi password and tell her that your internet broke.
 
If she nailed it that hard within 48 hours then rather just cut her off. Also...pretty sure thats borderline from a legal PoV.

You totally deserve it.
 
So you either get her to contribute and get a business account that doesn't shape or kick her off your WiFi.
 
Or, after you have posted the PICS you go onto your router and use the MAC filter to block her Youtube, twitter etc.

She abused it, the line was shaped, so explain what happened and cut her off until the line is no longer shaped.

on a serious note You going to have to set up QOS

Found the manual for your router here, under QOS section, pretty much explains what you need. http://au.billion.com/downloads/usermanual/wireless/BiPAC7300_G_UM_12162005.pdf
You might consider setting static IP address for your devices on the router and allowing those devices full speed while anything else will be subject to the policy you set up.
