Anyone experienced NeoBroadband?

New service offered by Neotel as a Business ADSL replacement.

Uncapped service - Fair Play Policy needs to be signed though
Synchronous down/upload speeds
Line speeds are 1, 2, 5, 10 and 15 Mbps
5 static IP's and complimentary sip channels on the 5 and 10 Meg services.

Pricing starts at R1600 for a 1Mbps through to R11250.00 for a 15Mbps line

How can they justify R1600 for 1mbps uncapped?
Bastards.

Just installed the 1mb WiMax Neobroadband on Friday. really impressed. Getting much better speeds than 1mb. Totally unshaped, great speeds throughout the day and latency to local servers are under 30ms.

In a working environment 1mb uncapped/unshaped for R1600 is a bargain tbh, especially when the upload=download

I think for a a synchronous 1MB service with 5 static IP's on uncapped/unshaped bandwidth is a bargain too... compare this to a business ADSL 4mb line where u'll be lucky to get speeds of 512k up and 2mb down + contention of what, a million to one at a cost of about R1500.00.

Only thing now - we'll have to wait and see how it performs...

I can tell you that I have not had any disconnects on the WiMax since Friday when it was installed. I have downloaded 30GB and uploaded 32GB. I just started a download lastnight at 11pm which was 6GB and it was finished at 10am this morning. I am on the 1mb solution, it is remarkably stable for a Wireless Solution, the Fibre options can only be better. My Latency for games is more or less 45ms to all Local servers.

NB: The WiMax is Wireless to the Basestation which is then routed via the Fibre.

jpmonster - this sounds promising...fibre to the curb should theoretically be more stable, and from the sounds of it, your Wimax is just that aswell.

Which area are you in though?

FYI NeoBroadband has a fibre option - not just WImax. Only catch is.. you have to buy the 5Mbps option or higher. Anyone want to move into my house and share bandwidth? Pets welcome. Girlfriends shared.

I'm ordering both of the NeoBroadband Fibre and WiMAX solutions as we're tired of Telkom ADSL issues. I'll post my findings.

Can't be - The prices above are for the Fibre solutions and it's available as of 1Mbps afaik.
The Wimax versions are a bit cheaper I think...

1Mbps Fibre = R1599 while 1Mbps Wimax = R1299

Well in terms of the NeoBroadband offering, this is whats on offer:

1Mbps/768Kbps WiMAX
2Mbps/1.6Mbps WiMAX
5Mbps/2Mbps WiMAX
8Mbps/3Mbps WiMAX

1Mbps FttB
2Mbps FttB
5Mbps FttB + 2 SIP channels
10Mbps FttB + 4 SIP channels
15Mbps FttB + 5 SIP channels

All of the NeoBroadband services are uncapped, unshaped at a contention of 1:10 I believe. FttB means Fibre to the Building.

Hello. I have had my Neobroadband WiMax 1mb for the whole of November and all i can say is :) :) I am way happier with this than I ever was with my 4mb Telkom line. As of 26th I am peacking on 530GB:) and thats not even constant downloading per day.

What sort of signup / equipment fee does Neotel charge for Wimax?
