Yup I am dissapointed, mostly smoke and mirrors if you ask me. Starting too look like those all to farmiliar mobile phone packages. Trying to justify a over priced offering with bell and whisltes is not what I am interested in. Their service is severely handicapped, not being able to be on the net and make a call at the same time, so I would have expected a bit more on the cap size, 10 Gig is a start but still quite pathetic. Their line speed is obviously not very stable, and latency not quite "up there".

I shudder as I type this, but Telkom ADSL is a better option for me at the moment, compared to NeoTel service. Oh hell we are really in trouble, are'nt we...
 
Nothing particularly exciting. Will you know before the call connects if it is on-network?

I'm interested in the phone itself - these days you need to ask what sort of battery life is guaranteed in case of an emergency during an all day outage? We know telkom lines will always work even if there is no power.

Is an alarm system going to be able to function normally? What about faxing?

I converted my telkom line to prepaid 2 days ago, just for my alarm system & the odd incoming call. I will not port my telkom number any more.

Thats R500 odd that needs to be added on here.....
It's not an option I would take now, simply because it costs more, and I can live with 3GB. But for guys needing 10GB, its the same price all inclusive for what some ISPs are charging only for the bandwidth.
 
Again, I'll go for it. It's not a bad offer compared to what I'm giving Telscum for 1GB and as a huge bonus (which should carry some weight in an "Anti-Telkom" forum) is that it's NOT TELKOM :)

Thats the thing! We're all comparing this offer to what we heard about uncapped for R499.. BUT given the cost of 10GB bandwith, it's a good deal - if you NEED 10GB.

I download about 10GB's a month... it's all worth it :)
 
So, where does one find out if their area is covered and where does one order the service?

iBurst modem is going to be a plastic paperweight or a chew toy for my dogs VERY soon(am leaning towards the latter).
