Neotel divulges subscriber figures

I knew from the get go that the modem was meant as a "fixed" connection and wasnt as mobile as 3g. My needs arent for a "mobile" connection and sadly atm i cant get a proper fixed line and i already have coverage in my area, so next week ill be subscriber 603.

And there we have it in a nutshell really.
You are getting Neotel because it is better than the lousy connection you currently have.
What I do not see is any reason for a Telkom subscriber to move over - for those people, Neotel is bucket-loads worse than Telkom.

Well without some proper tests that comment is not valid. But heck who knows, im getting mine hopefully next week to do some testing and worst that can happen is that it actually works the way i hope. Else i just hand it back and wait for that day i get helkoms connection...

I don't think I'm included in their 601 count because I applied and it's now been 168 hours since my application and I still haven't received my device...

Some problem between Neotel and Postnet.

I guess there's always Telkom 512kb if things don't work out.

B.

Well I've opted to go with "The Beast" again.

Went into Telscum shop in Bayside Centre and was assisted very nicely and ordered my line in no time.
Free installation with Closer2 and then self-install on the DSL.

Sad to say Neotel, but it was as simple as that :o

Why do u call an UNCAPPED 2.4Mbit /sec offering worse than Telkom?
Outside of latency issues and top speed surely an UNCAPPED account
is better.

lol I agree!

It's CDMA, Packet loss & High Pings are Guaranteed!! I

You could always wait for WiMAX wait even longer for Fibre, I will take anything as long as it's not like my current connection: 3Kb/s max speed since the begining of the month... Cheap ISP's like Aerosat that use IS = F A I L.

Unfortunately... it looks like their WIMAX is gonna be concentrating on the Business Sector First.

Angry with Neotel.
I mean in Cape Town the coverage is laughable.Been waiting and waiting for coverage and 350m away from Lite!

Nobody wants lite! Why would you jump to their offerings if they are so slack with rollout.
If they could commit to dates then i wouldnt be so irritated. The advert loops on tv all day, and when you pick up the phone they almost know you wont be covered.
Imagine how many base stations they have to set up to get us covered.

Guess i better move next to their base station so i can get prime.[Not gonna happen]
