Hi there,

Is anyone experiencing the same? I have my connected my device on 2 separate machines running Win7, and have had the same - Win7 hanging the machine totally, requiring a hard boot each time.

Please advise?

Thanks a lot!

I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit) with the Neotel Prime device and my PC never crashes.

Using the drivers from the web site.

I have the same problem with Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit and the neogo device. It hangs just after connecting to the net. I have no problems with any other device / program and have used both vodacom and mtn 3g cards to connect.

An interesting note to the above... I had the same freeze problem with Vista (32 and 64 bit!!). I think there is a hardware conflict but don't know where to start because I have no other issues / freezes.

Win 7 64 bit Ultimate
Q6600
MSI P7N mainboard
XFX 8800GT
4 gig crucial RAM

I can't speak for the NeoGo device, I had it and tested it on XP, I have 7 now and have only tested the Prime device which works with the drivers on the provided CD or downloaded from the internet.

I have the same problem with the NeoGo device. When I use it with Win 7 Ultimate 32-bit pc it hangs but with XP it’s working perfect.

My NeoGo device works perfectly with Win 7 Ultimate 32-bit and Win XP Home.

Win7

The great thing with Win 7 is its mostly self sufficient and virtually repairs and recoveres itself.
Very rarely have i had to install additional drivers from a disk, the auto update can run and pull all drivers required if the device is plugged in at the time of the update.

I have the same problem Windows 7 ultimate 64 freezes up completely at random intervals but mainly when I'm connected to Neohell. If anybody has any idea where I could start looking for the solution I would appreciate any help

Which device are you using?

If it is prime here's the solution:
Unplug your device from the PC
Uninstall the driver and software, Run a program like ccleaner to clear all issue registry entries. (www.cleaner.com)

Then restart.
Run the CD, and install. The once you plug your phone in, and it asks to locate driver if not automatic (if not auto, go into device manager and and select device and update driver) and select the win7/64 directory on the CD and the drivers file.

Should help if you're using the prime!

Neotel freeze

Thanks for the prompt response Hugo . I am running a Neotel prime device. I followed your recipe unplugged the device from the PC uninstalled all the Neotel software and drivers, cleaned out the registry with ccleaner was about reinstall from the Neotel disk but noticed that my installation disk had no sub directories only a Neotel manager v 1.8 exe. I opted to download the v 1.9 drivers and install them instead. Everything went smoothly the prime device was immediately recognized when plugged into the usb. set up my user and password again, it logged in perfectly and gave me 3 hours of freeze free internet access!!

Then it started freezing again, back to hard boots. I decided to repeat the whole reinstall procedure again but no joy this time, total freeze after 2 - 15 minutes. Please tell me that there is a better driver for this indescribable product that has been giving me high blood pressure for the past 6 months

BTW I had to type this message offline because my last 3 attempts were frozen after the first line.

I have recently upgraded my pc to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and since then I have had issues with my computer freezing intermittently. I have been browsing all over the net for an answer and have found a couple, but nothing worked. I eventually upgraded my motherboard bios to the latest version and that seemed to help a bit, but it all went south again. Today I have not been connected longer that 30min before my computer froze solid and I had to switch it off completely. All the time I thought it was something wrong with my computer or windows, so I connected my wife's brand new laptop (Win 7 Professional) directly to my neotel prime phone and it froze up within the first 10min. So it is definitely my neotel causing the problem.

I have tried uninstalling everything, cleaning the registry and reinstalling, but it does not take long for my computer to freez again

Is there any chance that it can actually be the neotel phone/modem causing the problem rather than it being the neotel service/connection?

You know, that sounds very similar to the problem some of us had with the drivers for the Mywireless device. It wasnt that the drivers werent compatable iwth Xp, it was because they werent compatable with the dual core processors. Maybe those who are having hanging problems should see if there isnt a similarity between their mobo's or processors.

After many days of of rebuilding , setting restore points and testing under windows 7 I found that the unspeakable poor device that neotel ships as modem with their neoprime product will freeze the computer running windows 7 that is connected to a network with 100% certainty. On the other hand if windows 7 machine has never had it's network set up the neotel device will not hang the machine. So windows 7 users can choose either to run a network or the neoprime device but not both.

just a thought..

how many of you with freezing problems have run a windows 7 anti-activation crack?

i ran neoconnect prime for a month with no freezing problems, then suddenly windows told me my copy wasnt genuine, even though i had activated it. i consequently had to use a crack, and since then windows has been intermittently freezing. i keep my device connected 24/7, so it *could* be a combination of neotel + win7 activator crack? or it could just be the crack. will figure it out soon..
