I would change Lite to Edge, because they claim 16KB/s. The Prime to HSDPA and the NeoFlex to HSUPA, since the only theoretical difference is the upload speed that increased. I know HSDPA can now do 7.2mbps, but HSDPA was first advertised to be 3.6mbps.

Wow... Seeing it in table form now it looks even worse than the press release article. My word. I can't believe that the NeoFlex is more expensive than the NeoConnect. Epic fail. So, I finally get data only without a useless slap-on voice package, and the voice-package is cheaper. How ironic.

I still wonder where they did their market research. Did they take a cue from the makers of Snakes on a Plane? They were listening to what everyone was saying but not applying any common sense. So they debut a product they are sure everyone will love, but in the end no one cares about.

I wish I could more fully express my utter disappointment at being offered THIS after two years of waiting.

Fine, you don't want to compete with Telkom on price, I can understand that. But there is no competition with Telkom in any way here and that is a mistake because if you have a business or a home with phone connectivity, you have that connectivity from Telkom. You need a reason to switch. Neotel, you are not offering me a reason to switch.

Focusing only the high end of the market is a mistake and one that has cost Telkom dearly. There are many South African's who would love to get access to the internet at home, but need a more affordable package.
 
I would have guessed a price at least half than the one in the comparison chart.

Neotel is just another money-grabbing-wolf, trying to come off as the "people's champion" all along that will deliver us from telscum's evil clutches. Sorry , but they've offered nothing so far that can be described as remotely impressive imo. I can see no substantial reason to switch over from telscum, other than out of spite......

Well that's hardly surprising to think ADSL as under the Service column it has "Telkom 4 Mbps ADSL" and that seems to be the closest Telkom offer on price and speed. So then why not use the price per Gb of Telkom ADSL. Is it the price of Telkom's HSDPA, if so why go and compare Neotel's to Telkom's most expensive, and much faster, service.

So as I said, it seems very biased in favour of Neotel.

I agree. The product does seem to be very well advertised on this site. These are the type of bread and butter issues that can lead to clear conflicts of interest for the MyBroadband site owners.
 
Apologies if this is slightly off topic, but does anyone know if it is possible to register a CDMA cellphone (available in India or Pakistan for example) to Neotel to give cellphone portability with Neotel prices and a "landline" number?
