Neotel network speed degradation update

No problem. Glad to help. I stay 600m from the tower, so I'm just about guaranteed to get max speed I can all the time (RSSI = 56, 50 being a meter away if I'm not mistaken. Punch *#2368*#07# into the neophone keypad and scroll down to RSSI, lower bring better). So if I get any slow speeds, I know that its because of the tower. I have a NeoConnect Prime Unlimited.

hehehe, Try this one.

Get called up at 01:30am Monday morning ye that is mornday morning by Telkom, They had a power surge of some sort and want to know if my ADSL is working.

hmm, now this was the most polite i will ever be at that hour, mostly because i was 80% asleep and not in a state to explain to the lady what I think of being woken at that time.

PS: nothing wrong with ADSL, all working fine on Monday morning

My signal is according to the neotel app as strong as it can be and im not even getting the speed i was getting on my 384 adsl??????? WTF

I have neoflex data 10g
 
upload is very important if you are sending tons of emails especially if they are cad drawings

p.s. been down most of the week so can't even do a speedtest
 
What is your RSSI [PeteGT]? My RSSI was very bad before I got my antenna, not I am on a reasonable RSSI of 78 and my download speeds have improved a great deal, I now manage to get on average more than 600kbps which is at least within the promised average....

Theoretical maximum upload speed is 153 kbps for Rev. 0 and 1.8 Mbps for Rev A.

Agentfr is on Prime so average throughput of 60kbps on uploads is on par for real world usage of Rev. 0 devices.

I'm thinking never. Unfortunately your speed falls within the 300 - 700kbps range that Neotel advertises. Everything else about your speed test is normal so they won't act on that.
I was in a similar situation, but fortunately for me, other guys in my area were getting 2 digit download speeds. When Neotel sorted them out, I also benefitted. My speed jumped from about 350kbps average to about 1Mbps.
 
Ok. Let me firstly say that I was only decently happy with neotel, until now. I just got myself the DOVADO UMR router from incredible connections, and it started great when I got it for a discount for a total of R1200. Went home plugged it in, updated firmware, reset everything twice and plugged in the Neoconnect Prime phone.

To my amazement it worked first time. No problems. Best of all its the fastest blazing speed and consistency that I have ever experienced on the phone. Im getting perma dl speeds of 210kB/s and pings are "high" but constant. I can acctually play games on it now.

I think its because of the router only having what it needs to run the phone without all that neo dashboard stuff. Best of all: it shares the connection just fine, even wirelessly. I'm about to get the xbox upstairs hooked up to it wirelessly. Cant wait :D

308 kbps has been the highest I've got in along time, been posting since the beggining of this thread. 300 - 700 should be my average, not 308 my highest.
I've achieved 1.4mbps once.
 
Ah, ok. Obviously not a signal problem then....

It seems the infrastructure is not up to scratch for the amount of users....I hope they come around and fix all of this...One problem at a time... :D
