The rep isn't responding to anything. On leave maybe, and obviously the only guy at Neotel that could be trained to use the internet.

Ag no - well at leas I get to vent a bit, kind of fun trying to run a business completely dependent on email through a connection like this.

No response from neotel still... come on NeoTel i dare you to make me a happy customer and provide some decent customer service?

Horrible connection today - dead again and neotel help desk - "high call volumes please leave message and we will contact you in the next 24 hours " wonder if that will happen!!!

Looking at this thread and looking at my own experience, Neotel is going to rapidly find themselves in deep waters if they don't sort themselves out very quickly.

@Neotel Rep
As much as you've helped me with my problems in the past this problem is carrying on for far too long and something needs to be done. The end of the month is quickly approaching and as I mentioned in one or another thread I will be going to ISPA. It's been almost three months that everyone has been experiencing terrible speeds and we have yet to see any stable, long lasting solution. And until this happens I'll continue to encourage people to go to the media, ISPA and ICASA (and in some cases, the small claims court).

Get some international help because clearly you guys need it. The longer this problem persists the worse Neotel's reputation gets and eventually it'll get to a point of no return. You won't only be damaging Neotel's reputation but Tata Communication's reputation as well and I have a nagging feeling that they know nothing about this current issue.

+1

And to think i was so eager at one time to sign up. It is a blessing that I don't have coverage, it seems.

Hi all,

I've been a bit quiet, but I've noticed a improvement on my setup as of late.
I've been working at a new job so I haven't really been monitoring Neotel or this thread, but I'll make notes of it tonight and then post later when I get home.

I did see my downloads peaking at 150KB/s now and again.

Hi gdiza

How is your neotel connection behaving, that is if you are still a customer of theirs?

We thank our customers for providing us regular feedback regarding the internet disconnect / session hanging issues. This problem is intermittent in nature, and therefore isolating the core reason has become a challenge. This is a top company priority and all of the customer input is being considered during the investigation.
As part of our analysis we have embarked on location based testing (with customers) to ensure that the problem is replicated and a solution developed.

lets hope Neotel can sort out all the little problems to make the Internet experience so much better...

@Neotel Rep - two major issues:
1. Speed
2. Disconnects

What is the feedback on 1. Still averaging 100kbs on Prime for 3 months now.
As I indicated to Samantha from you consumer division that I will wait until April to see if the problem is fixed before cancelling and so far there has been little if no progress and no update from Neotel. She also promised a credit note for last month but no guessing what happened there.

Hi,

well from this morning i have actually been able to do something on my connection.

Speedtest showed 1.25mbps and been downloading at like 160 and higher. Upload is still very low.

And sorted out the mail issue.

Thanks Neotel Rep

Siiiiigh...

Just as it seems that people are starting to go right, my con seems to go dead. As time passes, just gets slower and slower and pings shoot higher.

Any idea when you guys on the neotel bakkie are going to get round to hammering away on the towers in our areas?

P/N 320
RSSI 57 <--- really, really good. I live 300m from the tower...
Antenna: LPDA-A0021 <---- also have monster antenna. Its not the signal dying

Down: 40kB/s
Up: 8.5kB/s

Rep, help plox

Just a update - my Neotel is still running nicely. 100KB/s + generally.

I can't, but wish I could play games online - tried this the other day on SGS servers (playing COD4) and it lagged like a mother trucker :(

It seems to be have something wrong after Easter, my connection is still on (no disconnect) but no flow about 2hours everyday. (Normally Happen from 9:00 - 11:00 am) And the speed is slower and slower. Randburg and Midrand have the same problem. (Different Location, but Midrand speed issue even worse.) Normally in Randburg, speed drop to about 500K (Before Easter it is 1Mbps) Midrand drop to 50k - 200k (before system upgrade normally have 200K and before Easter normally have 300k).

Neo rep, pls face the new problem, what's going wrong after Easter?

I have disconnect issues:
Area: Broadacers - Gauteng

When I do get a connection the speeds are not bad check here

Neotel - I have PM'ed you my details along with contact number

My connection has now been worse than dial-up for the past week. I've started writing my complaint about Neotel which I'll be sending to ISPA at the end of this month. Neotel, you had 3 months to sort this problem out. Now it's time for intervention.

Would you mind posting your complaint so the rest of us can use it as a template?
