Neotel Prime Speed Report

moved it 40cm to the left:
Download Speed: 423 kbps (52.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 51 kbps (6.4 KB/sec transfer rate)

You will probably end up sticking it half way up a window at 30 degrees to horizontal, 10 degrees vertical just to find out your USB cord can't reach so you can enjoy max speed...my iburst was like that, any other position and it would suck.
Again...I HATE WIRELESS

Yip, had the same problem with my iBurst, and then they came out with Omni directional antennae which would do the same thing, work in some spots and then 10cm to the left and it didn't, they forgot what omni directional means.

But I'm happy, cant get ADSL cause they dont put phone lines in our Estate.

Howcome when I download my transfer rate is around 50k-150k. My friend gets 300k and upwards. How do I improve my speeds?:-(

The max theoretical speed on neotel prime is 300KBps (2400kbps/8) so I don't know how your friend is getting 300 let alone above. ;)

Sheesh thats not good, You sure thats not Lite, I have Lite and those are the speeds I get lol

That sounds like lite, I only see after re-reading that you are on Prime. Check your not geting a "x1" on your screen, if so, then your running at lite speed ... ha ha ha

Maybe the guy meant kbps? Would be a pretty bad thing for Neotel if he did.

Don't think so because in his speedtest he gets 800 od Kbps and then asks why he only gets 50 - 150 K so i assume he means KB because clearly he is getting more than 50 - 150 kbps (refer to speedtest).

Thanks guys,

Neotel Prime says you get speeds of 300kbs-700kbs, Am I right in saying my download/transfer rate is correct cause I get (est.) 37.5kB/s - 87.5kB/s.

So im guessing my speeds are ok then, but any advice on how I can better my speeds?

Anyone from midrand, whats you speeds?

I'm very disappointed, it's almost 2 weeks now since the performance has nose dived and no clear explanation is forthcoming from them.

My connection doesn't drop. It stays "alive" but I cannot connect to any sites nor download. I have to disconnect and reconnect and then it seems fine - for a short while. Anyone else experiencing this?

B.

I find with p2p applications lately I've been getting *** speeds, 20kBps
Looks like it's happening to everybody. We know Neotel is trolling this site....WE NEED SOME ANSWERS. They gonna lose customers if they carry on like this.

Are we so sure they bother trolling it anymore?

When last did any of us hear from the rep?

When last did Neotel answer any of the questions we have posed, or any of the issues we have raised?
