Neotel problems continue

This reminds me of last days of SENTECHSA........bye bye neotel.........

Tired of all their excuses.
Only a year left of my contract then I move to ADSL :D

Only 1 year!!!??

No descent service for your buck, then say cheers. You have the right!

I am confused by all these Iburst and Neotel customers. ADSL is the way to go for me.

I have not been satisfied with my Neoflex service since I got it in February this year. I also don't phone the call centre anymore - even their technical department doesn't understand internet-related lingo ("I do not know what latency is, sir"). I've heard you can't even cancel your account, with my neighbour below me still waiting to be reimbursed after cancelling his account 5 months ago and they kept on billing him. I give up. Watching my speedtests linger at less than 150kbps, sometimes 30kbps, is demoralising.

Neotel has, unfortunately, been a major let-down for me from the word go, and I tell everyone wherever I go to not even consider them over Telkom. Their support is non-existent, staff is incompetent, and greed is nauseating. I never knew anyone could be worse than Telkom, but hey, surprise!

I agree.

I am not familiar with the Neotel contracts but if Neotel fail to meet the terms of the contract then end the contract and hand back the device. At that point you are not under any obligation to pay them another cent.

A number of friends have jumped off Telkom contracts that way. The easiest is when they have a router shortage and can't give you a new one after that horrible router they provide breaks.

Correct, just give the wind up router back to them...

Customer support is a joke...

\Service was out in Somerset West from Saturday at 4pm until approx noon on Monday. Epic Fail.

Couldn't phone into the contact centre on 0800 333 636 as their PBX was not working properly and would drop you randomly into black holes rather than connect you with an agent.

The email address [email protected] was FULL and bouncing msgs back.

Finding any support contacts on the website in the first place is a nightmare.

The lack of a 'Current Network Problems' link on the site is a huge FAIL as well.

These guys are starting to make Telkom look good, a hard job indeed.

Neonothingtel, f off back to india with you baby monitor wireless devices. Dont even think about coming back until you can actually plug in a telephone or switch on a computer. You prance around thinking you all the rage, but actually your just another epic failure.

Do the job properly or dont do it at all.

I think there needs to be an award for the best failed company in SA, neonothingtel is fighting hard to win it.

so... the day comes and i'm jumping back to Telkom, where do I hand my device in? because I have no intention of paying it off month to month when they can't deliver 99% uptime with no phone resets!

Sick and tired of my Downloads averaging 10kbs (sometimes no faster than 2kbs)

Make a public sacrifice at the MyBB conference while the neotel CTO is at the podium!!

NeoTATA or the same old TATA................. 3rd world help 3rd world. Good luck to you Neotel

Amazing how Neo?? managed to stay true to their Indian origin - no clue about keeping promises, good service nor timeous responses. Greed, deaf ears to consumer complaints and attitudes of 'stuff the signed-up-customer' seem to prevail at this carrot-colored outfit. Go Flex your Prime, TATA.

I am just loving this....I am getting this warm fuzzy feeling, I dont know why I just am. Maybe it is because everyone thought Neotel will be the savior. Dont say I never warned.....HAHAHAHA

I don't know... I was hoping they would be more successful and create more/stiffer competition for Telkom. That way we would see more bang for our buck.

I have endless drama with Neotel and cancelled the internet and downgraded the phone. After a year of going insane, I finally got hold of someone who is an absolute angel and probably the only person at Neotel that gives a damn. Now, whenever I have a problem, I simply email her or contact her on her cell and the problem gets resolved. Without her, I would have gone into their head office with an AK47 and mowed the whole bunch down!

I too wished that that would happen. I was so keen on signing up with them when they first arrived, I truly believed they were the saviours of South African telecoms. However I wasn't keen on that phone usb device thing so I held off on moving to them until they got a wifi router-based solution that was more suited to my needs.

That waiting period turned out to be very important as it gave me time to see how horrific the Neotel service was. I learnt pretty quickly to stay away from them.

Thats precisely the same reason I detest them. They came bringing good news but turned out to be pigs.
