Dear Neotel Rep.

Could you please advice us what is happening with regards to implementing a
Online Bandwidth Meter so that we can see how much we have used instead of always having to phone in.

Surely it cant be a difficult thing to implement considering even the smallest ISPs have them.

Its been months since we were promised that this system would be implemented 'soon'.

Thank you, look forward to your reply.

Yeah i am doing that (when my internet works that is..) but i connect 3 PCs to my router.

It is our right as consumers to get answers to questions like this. I just cannot believe that Neotel cant even offer the most BASIC aspect of broadband.

He msg'd me regarding this : "We are implementing and email notification of usage shortly. A dialler with a usage tracker is currently being worked on.

Luf, forget it.

Do your own monitoring!

Get Bandwidth Meter, install it and u can log all your own traffic.

Gdiza, alot of us are doing that - thing is often our usage monitor is wayyyy off compared to our bill. So having a monitor from neotel allows us to verify accurately our usage. Additionally it allows us to ensure control that neotel is not jipping the billing and charging us more - u might ask how and its easy - dload a 100mb file and see if ure usage goes up by 100mb - if not ppl will start asking why.

In my setup (internet sharing), I've setup my PC as the gateway, so ANY traffic goes via my PC anyways, BM Pro logs all traffic.
It works perfectly... I've used it since I got my Neotel.

Yes that would work on prime or lite, but on neoflex when u have multiple devices connecting to the modem, its impossible. Even though the only device i dload with is my laptop (which i have a bandwidth monitor installed on) - its still extremely inaccurate. I think it may be due to the fact that i have a macbook pro and im not sure how accurate the actual bandwidth monitoring software is. So this month im not dloading at all - havent even done 1/3rd of my cap yet - and ill see if my bill is over - if it is im gonna *** on someone.

I've been on Neotel Flexdata 5g for a month now and have installed WatchWan software on my PC. I have picked up that there is a huge discrepency between Neotel and what I have. Its close to 500MB.

The last time I phoned Neotel's call centre, they told me that they're unable to provide the current month's usage. Until they can, I won't pay a cent for excess data usage on our Neoflex 15gb package.

Oddly, I've had a call from our account dept last week. Apparently Neotel hasn't billed us for a cent yet, which is fair, considering the solution has been almost completely useless for the 4 months we've been using it :D

Lol, well the Neotel rep wont even bothering answering this question which means a metre must be over a year away. Joke of a company.

Thanks for the feedback all. Kinda glad they have pi$$ poor coverage in my area still...otherwise I may have tried them too.
