I am just curious, will neotel ever get a fixed line service? Just curious because I'm a gamer and wireless adsl is not what you would call condusive to a fun gaming experience :P
Personally I think the gamers are a good market to look at...css alone has like more than 10 000 people playing online all the time...then u have COD4 and AA and not to mention the hordes who play DOTA and other WAR3 things :P.

Hi Klaasvakie

Neotel already has a fibre service, but this is maily aimed at large corporate customers (very expensive when compared to ADSL). Dont expect a fixed line service from Neotel any time soon, unless you are sitting in a gated community. It must however be said that latency on wireless connections are improving all the time. Not the same as ADSL yet, but it is getting closer all the time.

Hi rpm.

I understand what klasvaakie means when he said wireless does not make for a fun gaming experience.

I used to play online games using my 3G connection and while the pings are more than good enough, it is the ping spikes that annoy me. It is hardly fun to play for an hour on a really hard (but fun) mission just to get wiped out close to the end of the mission thanks to a ping spike.

Wireless is unreliable at best.

/rant ;)

I would wait closer to 2010 for fibre to the home :) at reasonable prices, at the moment Neotel corporate fibre can cost u in the region of R40 grand :(

Well no that is just from one article (yes I've read it too), you can't just make claims like that unless you actually phone Neotel and ask.
