Neotel to accelerate network rollout

Oh well...... just be quick please!!!!! We want coverage!!!!!!

There is one thing that does not make sense to me...

The reasonning behind awarding licenses to fogeign companies is, to get much need capital into the country. That makes sense right. I am sure TATA India did bring in a couple of million to start up the Company, but the whole infrastacture is being finansed by our own banks. Government might as well awarded it to a local group.

I am sure when the profits start flowing in, it goes one way to india.

Ajay Pandey, the managing director of Neotel, said the fact that the company was able to raise the funding despite the turmoil in financial markets "shows enough confidence in the business".

Lol. It means that investors know that no matter how bad you are if you are a telecoms company in South Africa you will make money ;)

That said I hope this new money will accelerate their rollout!

I just love this line.

However, in Cape Town the roll-out has been slow because of the cities' landscape.

What do they think if they wait longer it might change. It's not as if they did not know about the Cape Town landscape from day 1. They should have started planning then already.

For "landscape", read environmental issues, council permission, rights-of-way landlords etc. Anyone who's had anything to do with rollout in Cape Town will confirm this.

why is it always..."it's going to happen soon"? I can't remember when I last read an article about something finally happening... o yes, wait, the iPhone... after about 3 months of...it'll be here soon...

Neotel, you are the first to impress us, keep it up and we'll be your loyal slaves .
