Neotel turns profitable in core earnings

I wouldn't call Neotel, South Africa's second biggest fixed-line phone operator.. I would say South Africa's second license phone company.... but thats just me being pedantic.

BUT, its at least good to see Neotottie showing SOME profitability finally..
 
Still no Neotel Fibre, ADSL or Wimax to my house.
 
Doesn't look as though they will ever become a serious player in the residential market ...
 
Tata subsidiary Neotel, South Africa’s second-biggest fixed-line phone operator, swung to profitability in its core earnings in the financial year, Kumar said.

“That trend will continue into the next (financial) year, but it will be a few quarters before Neotel can be profitable on its own accord,” he said.

It seems to be a confusing contradictory statement.

To me that translates as "Tata doshed out som moola and helped boost our core earning, but, only when we finally have some customers can we then earn more money than we are spending or owning without expecting bail-outs to keep us afloat." ???

Or it could mean that it has finished spending money it does not have and now it is expecting some influx of revenue from its subscriber base ... ??

Some clarity would be most charitable.
