Neotel wholesale

IS and Neotel have a partnership to supply Tenet.. so I guess you could say IS is using Neotel's network.
 
they gonna rip everyone off just the same as telkom, they might be slightly cheaper, they wont just drop the price right to the minimum, they wont make lots off money that way,,,it will be a game of cat and mouse, going R199-telkom R180 neotel = R170 Telkom R160 neotel, etc....they dotn care about what you want...they care about there money. Nobody has even heard of them giving unlimited bandwidth like the other ISP do in other countries, so already its telling you capped capped capped.dont get ur hopes up...

Because they don't have an international connection yet, they are stuck with what we have at the moment and can't determine pricing on those cables.

Once Seacom lands it will be interesting, I don't think anyone should expect uncapped international bandwidth right now, it doesn't make sense.
 
As far as I know and to the extent as what was reported on myadsl, they do have an international connection as they were recently given access to a porition of SAT3. The reason why we don't have uncapped offerings or cheaper bandwidth yet is because they're effectively still going to be paying ridiculous rates for utilisation of the SAT3 cable.
 
I really think people are putting too much hope in to Neotel. They are most definitely the breath of fresh air this country needs, without a doubt. But we wont get anywhere near what the UK for example considers a good deal.

Dont expect 20 meg uncapped connections for R300 a month :P

But, I really hope that they will bring fixed line competition to the table. I would love uncapped, but that wont happen for a long time in this country. However I would like to see something like 10 Gig International for more or less the same price as it is now (realistically it wont happen).
