Neotel wholesale

Hey Friends,

OpenWeb did indeed contact the SNO, with no joy.

They informed us that they cannot help us because we are in Durban. They can only service clients in and around Johannesburg.

It took them about 10 minutes to understand what a Diginet is, so I am not quite sure how these folks are going to take on Telkom.......

Haha, judging from the few posts here I'm not holding my breath. WHat's a diginet? :p

At least they're thinking about last mile. Wireless is the fastest way for them to start offering last mile services.
 
I think their tech is far to advanced to include Digitnet as a service. Their call centre has only been instructed to deal with the current age tech
 
I don't think Neotel will use "3G", I read that they will make use of WiMax.

I agree with you on the over-priced bit, but certainly not the rest. Leased lines are still utilised world-wide, although not under the name 'Diginet'. If anything, leased lines are highly advanced products.

I agree - leased lines are advanced products in developed countries - much more advanced than Telkom's 64kb/s products.;)

Sorry, just arguing to argue, but Telkom's Diginet goes up to 2mb/s :). No, their Diginet isn't technologically too bad - our lines hardly ever experience downtime. Their prices, on the other hand... sheesh
 
wtf can they offer to companies now if they cant even offer ADSL ISP accounts yet?

MrBeep already replied, which other ISPs have contacted them and are in or around Joburg?
We wanna know some info about them here, besides the fact they took 10min to find out what diginet is~
 
Still no news on this? Still no ISP offering neotel bandwidth, or is it just extremely expensive?
 
I can neither confirm or deny this.

Neotel is apparently already testing there wireless technology in and around SA, and have been for since late 2006. They are working fairly closely with the major ISP's. No Dates to as when and where they will go live with this.
 
Major ISP's? Mweb bought them all off! And the only other major ISP is Telkom Internet. So is Neotel working with Mweb and Telkom?

IS, DataPro, FrogFoot, Verizon

None of the above have released any details on using Neotel on their backbones, so i doubt we will hear anything about consumer wholesale till its launched :)
