Neotel's weekend network problems

Neotel the great white hopeless. How long have they been around and how many subsribers do they have now ?

I also had problems from Friday night at about 6pm or 6:30pm and still having some problems at home on Neotel Wimax. The connection sometimes drops and connects and then it will drop again and it looks like the speed is sometimes up and down but the speed is beter now.

so now I know ... my NeoGo modem wasn't fubard after all. (who has super glue ???)

it's a pity I didn't throw it against the wall as that implied. but I sure WANTED to ...

It's quite funny, whenever I hear the Name Neotel I get that acid puke taste in my throat

Neotel

I bothered to register with the service to share and add my voice to the apparently unanimous view about NeoHELL.
I switched over to Mweb ADSL uncapped and left the Neotel contract to run its course. I will still be better off!
The connection was worse than MyWireless in its days. Neotel should take heed of the path to oblivion followed by MyWireless.
The service and support was not existent and the times there was a connection it NEVER had the speed nor the capability advertised.

The TENET-SEACOM graph over the weekend (which relies on the Neotel backbone) looks like a dogs breakfast:

TENET does not use the Neotel backhaul to Jo'burg for their SEACOM services. They make use of redundant links (one of which is provided by Neotel) between the landing station and Durban, where it enters the TENET national backbone, which today includes SANReN, provided by Telkom!

BTW Not sure what you mean by a dog's breakfast, other than graphing problems - doesn't look like the actual SEACOM circuit has been down recently.
