I have .Net 3.5 installed on a laptop now some ATI stuff is asking for a minumum of .Net 3.5 SP1 to be installed before it will work.

So I downloaded the .net 3.5 SP1 Setup from the MS site which is a online installer. The installer starts and tells me it needs to get 54MB of the net, that's all fine and dandy but when it get's to about 3-4MB into the process it then suddenly goes back to 0 or 1 MB and starts again.

Windows update has not notified me of any new updates although I have it set to only notify me and not download anything. The updater via web browser does not work and just crashes.

Any ideas on where I can get a offline update/installer to .net 3.5 SP1?
 
I installed XP SP3 three which I had on my hdd. I then tried the .net sp again, this time it got to 24MB. After that it kept on going from 29MB to 26MB which seemed like a endless loop but the POS eventually did finish.

So problem sorted.
 
look i can help you out with dotNetFx40_Client_x86_x64 . this is what you will need, but the download is 42mb. pls msg me if i can help. regards, metrohub.
 
ps - so by the way .net 3.5 is very old crap software , my one is the full .net 4.0 offline installer. you did not mention , r u using win7 or xp ? i think just get this .net 4.0 , ive had the same problem, could not load any web design software, and microsoft told me to get another version, but i eventually found it long story and now everything is working fine without formatting and reinstalling windows ;-)
