If Showmax you don't need Unotelly. If Unotelly then the Netflix offering is unlimited.
Every region has a different offering. I however use Hulu too so I'm keeping everything as it is.

Not using unotelly for showmax. Will sign up for unotelly for full US netflix offering. Been putting off sigining up for showmax in anticipation of Netflix . Rather disappointing

Can someone give me an alternative safe browser plugin that I can use to login to the US netflix so that I can see the catalog there? I used to use that other plugin before the news broke that it was leaching info from users forget the name - icon was a face with flames above or something)... I am using chrome and not signed up for UNOTELLY yet

I wasn't too happy with Showmax but have to be honest and admit it's a nice addition to my current content (Hulu and Netflix). All in all I think I pay around R 300 odd for all these offerings and it beats DSTV hands down.

There is a lot of current content the wife is watching on Hulu. Netflix is more for the children and full series seasons. I'm watching Showmax atm as I'm watching The Big Bang Theory But I'll see what else to watch once I'm done with that.

These services are complimentary, not in competition. Netflix + Hulu + HBO Now + iTunes gives a great combination

Once you're a subscriber you can access any content and region you're "in". So you can sign up for SA but watch it in Ireland as an example. It's all about where in the world you are

OK, just used tunnelbear.com - WOW, US is massive compared to ZA Netflix. Going to need unotelly me thinks

Just been testing in KE on the UHD stuff.

Interesting that if you have a 4K TV, thats what it uses by default, and lol, been watching the bandwidth usage while playing at 4K. Was using around 25mbit/second for the stream.

The other interesting thing is the 1080p stuff worked fine with the TV connected over 802.11n. However, the 4K streams didn't work so well, which is curious because while the TV only does 802.11n, on a speedtest on my macbook (which admittedly uses 802.11ac) I get 600mbit/second bi-directional, so there SHOULD be enough bandwidth on the 11n (which should be able to do 80+mbit/second)

But, it might be less soon since Netflix is re-encoding its entire library to save data.

Currently, it's intelligently re-encoding its entire catalog in an attempt to cut data usage by 20 percent, Variety reports. It began the project in 2011 and has worked with university researchers to automate the process.

Even US isn't the "Full" offering. Plentty countries have shows that US Netflix doesn't. All comes down to distribution rights.
