Netflix ZA Live

@isie: i think it because you are locked into legacy subscription. Before netflix created the SD and HD accounts the cost was 7.99 for 2 screens and HD. When they upped the price for the HD and introduced SD only accounts they locked their earlier subscribers into a legacy pricing. The plan pricing remains so until May this year where those subscribers need to pay what the rest are paying.

Note: Check account details on your netflix account

but its only going up from $7.99 $8.99 which is still cheaper then the $9.99 the local one is charging for 2 screens

In order to continue adding more movies and TV shows, we are increasing our price from $7.99 to $8.99 for new members. As a thank you for being a member of Netflix already, we guarantee that your plan and price will not change for two years.

Tried to get the free month but have subs with Netflix my cards details was recognized.using the uk app on Samsung hub

lol, this is kark funny.

I want to post about Netflix now being live on Facebook and I get a security warning that I'm posting content not allowed

Anyone got this running via Xbox or Samsung Smart TV without changing the region settings?

I can't find the Netflix app on my Xbox 360. If I use the browser and go to the Netflix website, it asks me if I want the free trial period but can't see any app to download.

Just to clarify. Current Netflix setup is as everyone, Unotelly and US account. Unotelly allows changing of regions. If I do SA Netflix and cancel unotelly, then I am restricted to SA Netflix only? I will still need Unotelly for region changes? Also, will Unotelly then update to include the 130 new countries for region changes?

Yes, yes, and yes (probably not all 130,just the most popular ones )

You are correct.

Saw a Unotelly post of FB last night that they have begun working on updating the regions on their end.

Change your region on your Xbox. The app is not available locally yet I think.

Signed up last night. Very disappointing offering. Rather go the showmax route and unotelly

100% correct. I'm leaving mine as is.

Very good news to wake up to!

Welcome Netflix. Now, who is the next provider to come to SA?

If Showmax you don't need Unotelly. If Unotelly then the Netflix offering is unlimited.
Every region has a different offering. I however use Hulu too so I'm keeping everything as it is.

Gradually - they're already asking for requests for which countries to add first. http://blog.unotelly.com/2016/01/netflix-launches-in-130-new-countries/

I've considered going the Hulu route - but Netflix has everything that I want for the time being.

Broadcast rights surely? I can't see it on Showmax, so Mutichoice don't seem to have the streaming rights (which are totally different)

ShowMax and MultiChoice are competitors (Albeit with the same shareholder)

There is a lot of current content the wife is watching on Hulu. Netflix is more for the children and full series seasons. I'm watching Showmax atm as I'm watching The Big Bang Theory :o But I'll see what else to watch once I'm done with that.
