Netflix

Damn so that means the current $9.99 im paying will be going up. Think i might have to relook at Showmax

Back in 2014 they increased subscription fees by $1 but grandfathered existing customers in at $7.99 for the next two years. In 2015 they increased the subscription by another dollar. For those people grandfathered in at $7.99 it again stayed the same. Those two years have come to an end so those that were paying $7.99 are now paying $9.99.

AFAIK Netflix hasn't announced any further increase yet.

Just a random question, seen you have netflix now a while already. And we currently house sitting where there are netflix. But do you have a online help whereby you can decide what shows must come on? Because after the weekend we noticed that there is nothing new on Netflix that we want to watch, it is all of the series that we already watched on DSTV? Please help us out, as we trying to decide between continuing with our DSTV account or getting Netflix, but after the weekend we are so lost.

Netflix continuously changes their catalogue of shows and movies. Aside from their own productions the majority of shows are released at least one season behind what's currently on TV. Netflix + Showmax might offer a you a better selection than just South African Netflix alone and you'll still be saving a packet, assuming you already have a decent broadband connection that is.

nope.
your price won't change for a while.
we were subscribers for years so when the price went up 2 years ago, they mailed us to say our price will remain for 2 years.
I assume on the next increase they will probably do the same,

I don't think so - as far as I know people who joined at the $8.99 price point were immediately bumped to the $9.99 point :o

Aah interesting. What i also find interesting is that they never had an issue with a customer signing up outside of the US. Now that they go global, they block all these VPN services.

Are you accessing the US library?

I live in beverly hills :)

i used to use Unotelly to get acess to other counties but that went for a ball of $h1t
So now only accessing the SA library, it's not bad my 4 year old is happy so that's all that matters :)

I was charged R175 when I opened my account without a proxy, according to the website it was supposed to be a "Free trial" but I got billed immediately.

My wife got bored of the SA Netflix so cancelled. She was the only one really watching it.

I'm now eyeing SlingTV

It's not cheap - if you know anyone in the US you could get them to share their cable tv subscription details with you and get pretty much all that same content for free. :)

Yes, I noticed :( Unfortunately the only people whom I know in the US are a few guys I studied with and I seriously doubt they'd help me out :)

Do a google search on kodi, kodi's top apps and live TV. USTV now offers something similar to sling tv but there are so many apps you can get on kodi you wont need to use SlingTV.

Netflix not working today, at all. Amazon neither. This is through my Roku 4.

Local or international? what proxy, if international, are you using. Or is that a question that is not allowed on the forum ?
