Does anyone use one of these ADSL Routers?

I need to get the latest firmware but can't seem to find it anywhere.

All my devices that's connected via wifi to this router drops their connection at the exact same time but the wifi light
on the modem itself doesn't go off.

I think that a firmware update should do the trick.

Hmm yes that's a tricky one since telkom uses their own specific "firmware"

I remember reading somewhere on the forum about someone else with the same kind of issue, not sure if a solution was found though.

Funny mine works well for the Wifi but I have to reboot it a few times a day as the ADSL connection "freezes" so i use my Dlink for ADSL connected to my Netgear which does the WIfi part. Why can't life be simple :(.

I have had this problem with my Telkom Netgear router as well. Even returned it and the new one does exactly the same. The only thing that worked was to change the wifi throughput setting on the router. The max speed is 300 Mbps (IIRC), that is the one that causes wifi to drop. Set it on the middle setting (~150 Mbps) and it should be fine. Haven't had a wifi drop in months now.

Mine is also set to 300Mbps. I'll change that and see if it makes a difference.

I dont know why people buy Telkom branded rubbish, they always give problems.

PS: I can give you Netgears official firmware for that router but I dont know it it will overwrite the Telkom one.

I didn't buy it. Got it when I signed up for Adsl a few years ago.

I've changed the speed from 300mbps to 145mbps. Some far so good.

You can still share that firmware if you like.

Here, just type DGN2200M in the box and select Version 1.0.0.37.

I suggest you flash it with that firmware then if it bricks you must just take it back to them and say it doesnt work. They should give you a new one no questions asked.

Don't know if you got this sorted as yet. But, I have the same router and had the same issue a while back.

Go onto your router and do a factory reset. Just remember to have your ISP details ready. It worked for me :)

There is some dodgy website which Telkom refers to on their page where you can find the firmware.

Since I changed the speed from 300mbps to 145mbps I haven't had a WiFi connection drop once.
