i've had ADSL 384 since Nov 27th last year and have found some deterioration in International traffic in the long term.

It's hard to put a finger on it and it may just be due to different circumstances, like problems with saix or jinx or whatever, but things definately don't feel as snappy as they did when I joined ?

Another option could be the massive problems Telkom are having in Gauteng with the rain etc. - I've heard that they are getting Telkom oaks from all over the country to help them fix all the issues due to the weather.

I wish I knew - all I know is that I've had problems listening to streaming audio lately.

Even 64kbps streams are continuosly disconnecting.

My pings to Saix that originally were under 40ms are now 42 to 44ms

who knows, it's just damn frustrating when you want to listen to some radio at 8pm and you can't.

Definitely happening, I thaught it was just me, what area are you in ?

Blairgowrie, Randburg.

I've seen virtually fleets of Telkom bakkies/vans cruising around or parked at DB's/poles for months now.

I guess things will improve when the rains start diminishing and as Hellkom upgrades thier network.

Not so sure, I was down for 2 weeks, blown splitter card, the card was replaced, and I got a phone call almost immediately to let me know the fault had been repaired,(AND I SHOULD SIGN OFF THE FAULT REPORT) the next day no more ADSL, the card had to be re allocated to a corporate user, I now have the slow ADSL you describe except mine works ok after 5pm and before 7.30 am allowing me to believe I may be sharing a card with someone else.

I have experienced the same problems, prior to my december vac I was happily playing online games with latency in the double digits  , since returning in January latency is up to around the 450 mark which is very fustrating! Anyone say LAG  .

P.S. I am in Morningside
