Poor reception on Telkom mobile

UPDATE: I know it may be a bit superfluous but I've decided to give another update .

So average signal strength for the Telkom Mobile Network has improved once again to being more or less consistently full. Its been good like this for at least a week now (haven't counted exactly how many days). The only possible reason(s,) I can deduce for this is:

1. Some maintenance has been done on the nearest cell tower(s) in my area

2. Due to the temporary cessation in load shedding the cell towers have had a chance to recharge their batteries thus increasing the signal strength(?)

3. Telkom mobile has fixed some possible problems on their end.

The improvement in the signal strength did occur a day or 2 after load shedding had temporary stopped so that might be the cause. Although correlation doesn't necessarily = causation, still interesting to note.

That said; if the signal strength degrades once again shortly after load shedding resumes we can probably safely conclude that it was due to that.

Anyways I'm happy for now at least.

Cheers!

Hello everyone, I've bought a Telkom prepaid sim about a year ago and ever since I've had it I've been experiencing poor reception/signal and as a result, unstable internet.

I had planned to use this sim for casual mobile gaming but that is not viable due to said poor reception. I would be experiencing unstable ping and packet loss issues or the internet connection would just randomly stop working.

I've looked at Telkoms coverage map for my area (Western Cape, Southern Suburbs, Lansdowne) and according to that map, Telkom is supposed to have full LTE coverage for my area, yet my connection is at best 2 bars on 4G at home and often switches between 4G and 3.5G or sometimes just drops completely.

It's not my phones antenna as I've tried this sim in two other phones and the issue (bad reception) persists.

I'd like to add also, that I have an MTN prepaid sim and the 4G reception is full almost all the time for that sim and also had a sim for a short time from another mobile network ( maybe Vodacom or Cell-C) previously and full 4G reception for that sim as well, same location (home).

I'd like to know if anyone else has experienced this issue with Telkom mobile and if there's any possible way this could be fixed?

I'm also aware of the Telkom roaming option and I have that already switched off as I'm only using Telkom data bundles as they're supposed to have full coverage in my area and their data prices are more affordable.
