I have an MC950D that is network locked to Vodacom. I thought from previous threads (some time back I recall) that all new devices would not be network locked? Enquiries with the service provider (Nashua) indicate that it cannot be unlocked. Has anyone else come across this? Comments?

I'm not aware of any loacked Vodacom modems.

How do you know that it's locked?

OK, so it wasn't locked...

Firstly the VMC lite application won't let you connect if 'not connected to the Vodafone network'. Secondly I tried connecting using the VMClite connection under dial-up in the Network Connections and this was also unsuccessful - hence the deduction that it was locked!

HOWEVER.....

What I just noticed was that the VMCLite connection was linked to Bluetooth DUN Modem and not the Ovation Modem - don't know why, but I changed it and now it's fine!:D

Like V3G said, All Vodacom supplied modems ARE NOT network locked.

The "You need to be connected to the Vodafone Network" error is as a result of the Windows Dial-up service not activated or corrupted.
