New 15-inch MacBook Air launched

Apple unveiled the latest addition to its MacBook lineup — the 15-inch MacBook Air — at its Worldwide Developers Conference on Monday, 5 June 2023.

The Cupertino-based tech giant says the new MacBook Air is the world's thinnest 15-inch laptop and, with its M2 chip, is 12 times faster than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Air.

That’s nice. But 15” seems a bit excessive for what is meant to be an ultra light and ultra portable machine.

Not really. This 15” model is the same size as the intel-based 13” MacBook Air. They shrunk the bezels to create a 15” that’s the same size as a 13”. Definitely still ultra light and ultra portable.

One day, when I need to replace my M1 13" Air, but not today.

I still have an MB Air lying somewhere. Not for me.

Istore just released pre order pricing. 15 inch MacBook Air cost R30999 and the older m2 MacBook Pro is R29999. US pricing both of them at $1299. why the difference in pricing her is ridiculous. will wait for price drop.

Pricing for the Air was most likely based on the Rand being around R19.5/USD. M2 Pro was imported when the Rand was stronger. It should come down if the Rand keeps where it is at R18.7/USD or strengthen.

New incoming stock with new USD pricing vs old standing stock with old USD pricing.

Digicape r35000 wondering what istore and they use for exchange rate. Also the included charger is 35W. US you get option for 70W charger at no extra cost.

Thin laptops of this size are a waste of effort

Make it a bit thicker, and put proper usb ports, Ethernet, HDMI and a monster batter and they would have an absolute killer machine.

They have that already, it’s called the MacBook Pro.

My mothers partner ordered one yesterday in the UK, it's due to arrive today, and I'll be setting it up over the weekend.
