So I've just been migrated to the new 3gig package from my old 2gig package. The problem is that I will be paying the same amount p.m now as I was was before and I'll be getting 1gig extra. This would be fine if I wasn't paying R385p.m! Come on, the new 2gig package costs R198, This means that for an extra gig I'm paying R187pm  This is ridiculas! On the 2gig package I could buy almost 3gig worth of top-ups for R187.

Either the pricing of the 3gig package has to be adjusted and fast or all the people who were/are on the old 2gig package must be migrated to the new 2gig package and there mustn't be anything about "migration fees"

NO there is a 3 gig package its just not shown just like the old 2gig(turbo) package wasn't shown... Oh and the booster prices on the 3gig package are only R5 cheaper than on the 2gig package.

In that case, when Shaun gets back from vacation, email him directly and ask him to migrate you down to the new 2GB package.

Don't bother phoning helpdesk and emailing them.

Only Shaun gets things done.

Hi,

You will not be paying R389 on the Wireless 3 , you will only pay R335 saving you R54 and getting an extra 1Gig.

If you want to migrate to Wireless 2 you will pay R238 however there will be a migration fee of R453.
(Prices based on assumption that you are on a 24 month contract and have a Desktop Modem)

Please send me your iBurst account number or Username so that i can calculate for your specific account on [email protected]

I still don't get it how a company can 'offer' packages that aren't even shown as part of their product offering :S

His old package 2GB @ R385pm
Migrated to 3GB @ R335pm

If he wants to go to 2GB @ R238pm then it will cost a migrations fee R435

Is it worth the downgrade fee ? depends on how long the contract still have left.

What's he complaining about? Try R 589 for 3gig and a R 2500 cancellation fee, no migration option because you do not "qualify" after using it almost 2 years now.

They are essentially scamming these people... standard practice should be to keep your cap the same and reduce the price, giving people such a big price reduction that you already got stuck in a 2 year contract is obviously not something a SA telecoms company gonna do though

So lets make them pay R439 for them to essentially downgrade to their old package

I think the upcoming billing run from iBurst might just be the most enternaining one we've seen in a while ;)

Im also on the Turbo 2Gig package.. and was expecting a little more value for money when it comes us with the lower packages.... My contract ends in July 2010... THEN I QUITE IBURST..

Also getting sick of the reliability issues.... i cant do my work.. and these problems have been going on for more than reasonable period now.. and for a "little" bit more value package and still reliability issues .. :(

Sigh at this. When I took my contract out 3 years ago I was on the 512mb package, Over the years I've gradually moved up and payed more monthly, but now to migrate down I have to pay :( In that case should I not be payed by iBurst for all the times that I've migrated up?

Yahwellnofine, I don't want take emotional decisions, but the past week saw us unable to connect twice. Both times large sections of their coverage area was down for hours!

Yip, I've had the same experience as Mental-Tree and others. I also started years ago with a half Gig. With each restructuring of packages my bandwidth was increased, also now on an unadvertised 2 Gig package (why hidden!?). So with the last round of revised packages, I was suppose to move up to 3Gb, which is almost twice as much as what I use/month.

The bummer was the R453 migration fee! Gosh, they really don't want you to migrate down. The saving per month (to stay on 2 Gig) will be R150/mo, but due to the migration fee I will only effectively enjoy the reduced price from month 4.

Maybe we must just concede that this is a developing country.
