If you want REAL uncapped, go Mweb. It's UNCAPPED! Why would you want UNCAPPED if you don't intend on consuming alot of bandwidth. Gian, gtfo of the ISP racket, or get clue.
 
the mindset of uncapped in general is to the customer that he can use his internet as he wishes to whatever extent without degrading performance, doesint matter if your a heavy downloader or a normal user. Same principle applies to everyone. This is what isps tend to not grasp at all.

Note and all probally knows this but the reason why afrihost is using this kind of FUP is because they buy on Per GB offering just like you do with there capped accounts. and its beginning to mean the end for them.

Yup, I didn’t go uncapped just so that I could go browsing around or send mommy an e-mail; I went 4meg uncapped so I can download at the fastest speed possible whatever I want without worrying about a damn cap.

Now I’m being labeled as an abuser, I accepted the previous FUP that if I reach a 100gb I’ll be throttled to 1meg and so on, but NO even after they put those target figures in place which most of us happily accepted and used to that extend, we are now seen as the bad guy’s for following their previous FUP... cause; the other 93% for some reason are suffering and can’t send their damn e-mail at 8 PM at night when I actually start using my account.

So yeah.... WTF ?

Srsly, STFU or GTFO. If you don't like the changes, go to another ISP. Jesus the amount of whining when there are alternatives...

Ok got some early feedback since my speeds were restored to me after 3 days of no downloading. I started a 7GB iso @ about 9:20 +- 100kb per 4 download threads in IDM, everything has been fine till about 60%, shot out to get smokes and some vodka, returned home to find the punishment has started @ about 80% and the four threads are @ about 30kbs each now. so shaping on weekends is BS in my opinion as there is no business use at this time not that im complaining. But this give me a clear indication of what i will be doing on monday. wait.... its back to 50kbs :D

im afraid things have taken a turn for the worst im now @ 10kbs four threads in idm so i reckon thats 512kbs speeds @ 90% completion of my iso i hope cod is playable tonight the time is now 15:15 so speed has degraded from 4mb to 512kb in 7 hours and will prob take 3 days again to get back to normal. current usage for the month is 89GB.

15:30 now extreme punishment has set in all four thread @ 6kbs now, so basically once they start throtling speeds look as if they will decrease very quickly.

im still under 100 necuno so yes if im heavy fair enough i dont do this every day, thanks to the shaping i have wasted aprox 14gb this month if i wansnt shaped this would not be the case anyway uncapped is not what they are offering right now is it?

i've clocked around 100g so far with mweb, last month with imagineIPS ±160g-ish. i can see why they want this kinda implementation, but it's going to fail in some cases. for example buy and download mass effect 2 on the first of the month, you clock 15 gigs. then you want it's dlc's almost another gig is spent on that. life goes on and you get ear marked because of the quick use of 16 gig in a row. rest of month/day(s) you are slow. now maybe next month it gets reviewed and you are still semi marked, but now god forbid you and to redo your whole pc, now that is a ****load of patches and updates you have to got. another mark against you because you have used a lot of bandwidth too quickly and caused some congestion, more slowness for you. now you have 2 months of being marked 3rd month slow from the start ?

what happens if you do a lot of HD streaming, will you now be slowed down because you actually using your internet properly ? the thing is that most isps want to sell a product, but don't want their clients to actually use it apart form surfing/emailing. not to mention the fact that all these accounts are actually high cap accounts being re-branded as uncapped.

what happened to 100g-150g was ok ? seems that they are slowly decreasing the accepted "cap" for their uncapped accounts.
