New Avengers: Endgame version to be released

Far from a rapid decline. There was a five-year period between buff Thor decapitating Thanos in the beginning and fat depressed Thor.

He had just lost his home; watched his brother and best friend - Heimdall - get murdered in front of him and he was powerless to stop it; half of the people he tried to save were slaughtered by Thanos and he failed to stop and kill Thanos when he had the chance. The one Avenger that actually had the strength and opportunity to kill him and he didn't go for the head. The final straw was when he finally did kill Thanos it meant nothing as Thanos had destroyed the Stones and there was no going back. Aside from the few Asgardians that made it to earth, he had nothing left.

It was clear that all of the remaining Avengers were in a dark place after they killed Thanos. Black Widow's emotional ''armour'' shattering in the scene with Cap America. We had never seen her that vulnerable. The ever optimistic Tony Stark turning his back on everyone and effectively throwing in the towel. Even when the others were ready for round number 2, Stark still didn't want any of it and he was usually the one with the ambitious and optimistic plans. Captain America admitting that it was time to stop fighting (''I think its time we all got a life'').

Yeah, I get that it's all very traumatic for Thor. But he grew tremendously as a character in the previous two films and had accepted his role as the ruler of Asgardians. I would have much preferred that he turn a bit cold whilst responsibly doing everything possible to build a new Asgard for his people. Breaking him out of his shell could have been his plotline for Endgame. Heck, I don't even care that much about the fat part - making him a chubby ruler who only cares about his people would have been fine too.

I just hope the next time we see Thor, perhaps with the Guardians, he's going to pull his s**t together and overtake the insufferable Captain Marvel in power level. And hopefully, take the reigns of Asgard at the end.

Fair enough.

I think he is done with being a ruler for now, seeing as he handed the reigns over to Valkyrie. Its adventure he is after now I reckon.

Feige has already said Marvel is the strongest, so she's not being displaced.
