Hi All,

I've been working as a software engineer for the last 8 years and have a nice stable job. But I've always wanted to create a business of my own. It doesn't need to be IT related, just something I can start out small and grow over time through tons of hard work and late nights (could be selling ladies shoes for all I care)

I was hoping the community might be able to help me out, since I don't have a great imagination and when you google these kinds of things you get tons of get rich quick schemes which isn't what I'm looking for.

If anyone has an ideas that they're willing to share, or online resources (please not stuff like this) that you think I might find useful I'd love to hear it. :)

Yeah.. the point of a good business idea is that you typically don't share it with other people who are wanting to start a business too, else they do it before you do and there goes your business..

Do market research.. what you would be looking for is a gap in the market, where you would be able to fill that gap by starting a business..

Yeah I totally get that, a good idea can be valuable. I'm not looking to steal an original idea. I guess I'm hoping someone might be aware of a market that could use some more competition and put that forward as a something for me to investivagate further.

Figure out how to change the industries opinion on locally manufactured battery packs for ELDV's. Goldmine but the opinion is that they just catch fire, which is true, but still.
