Seat Leon Cupra - 177Kw R264,000 (basically an Audi/VW in a different body)
 
A friend of mine has the 2 door Focus ST. That car feels great. Haven't driven the A3 though so I can't compare.

Have to agree what what you say about new manufacturers, but i reckon they will be able to use many if not most of the vw parts, they almost the same cars.

I wont go for the Seat myself though, was just pointing it out as a possible contender to the ST.

Everything in the Seat is almost VW/Audi. Servicing is the same as a Gti.
Everything from cup holders, indicators, sunroofs, door levers are all VAG products. Seat is also not new.
Hyundais new but they have a solid rep in SA.
