New Cell C Connection Manager

I installed it with my E1820. Works perfect.
Why bother about the size, its free if you are on Cell C.

I did have two disconnects in the last 3 days but im not sure if that has to do with the Dashboard software or the actual Cell C network.

I'd like a copy too if you dont mind? Just incase i want to switch back sometime

I'm working on it... Borrowing a friend's modem later.. Will update, since CellC support is failing me :(

Hi all

The new dashboard is very interesting and has a lot of new features.
I have been playing around with it, like the short cuts as well.

If you want the old dash board it is on the Cell C website

Click download and scroll down to Cell C Speed Stick dashboard - Windows - v.16.001.06.04.368

hope this helps.

Where does one download the new dashboard manager vir Windows Vista? I don't see it on the download section.

I downloaded the file and ran it. When it came to step 4 it out of the blue failed to detect the E1820. It informs me to unplug the modem and insert it again with ref. code 39. I do so but it does not help. It informs me to unplug the modem and restart the PC with ref. code 40. I do so, and insert the modem again. The new "Connector" does not detect the modem, although XP picks it up. MDMA fails to detect the modem (with the Cell C program closed). The installer fails again. I uninstall the Cell C software, and reboot. MDMA still does not detect the modem. Ran the original Cell C installer on the modem, and after the reboot, everything is working again. Thanks for nothing Cell C...

I see there is a file called HUAWEI_BUILD_1_0_1_53.B416.exe as part of the update. Anyone have info on this firmware update?

MDMA on Windows and Linux default network manager works like a dream, dont need anything else.

Would be interesting to know if the new one actually shows signal strength? ie: I am running now at 75 -dbm

I ran the file HUAWEI_BUILD_1_0_1_53.B416.exe, which updated the modem with the latest Cell C software/firmware. After the restart (and a few tweaks to the settings), the "Connector" program registered on the Cell C network and was able to connect.

I went through all the menu items, and the signal strength was nowhere displayed in dbm, only %.

The Huawei E1820 after updating still has the 11.831.0... firmware. So that is still the "latest" firmware.

I went through the exact same experience as you... kept telling me modem not detected. (Windows 7 64-bit)

Eventually gave up and stuck to the old dashboard. If it ain't broken, don't upgrade.

Well at least the old version worked for you. I got gatvol and took the modem to the store and told them to sort it out! Will see what the outcome is and report back!
