New computer case

The haf 932 is huge man it will handle everything, i replaced the side fan because it goes at 700 RPM and pushes in very little air.

My 2 5770's sit right on top of each other and when i have the large 20cm fan the temps sat at 44 and 51 idle, i replaced the fan with 4 120mm and now they idle at 34 and 37. Those 4 120mm fan push out around 5x times more air i would say.

Hey Killa, I am looking at replacing my side fan with 4 x 120mm fans to lower my IOH temperature. What's the speed/make of the fans you're using?

I use 4 of those, the noise is a bit kuk when my earphones are not on but i rarely sit at my pc without them on.

Those would also work well and not be as noisy.

You do not something so powerful i only used those because they cooled my watercooling at one point, you can get one that make less noise because 39db for a fan is loud :D. You can use any 1000rpm 120mm. Anything will be better than sorry excuse of a 23cm side fan the case provides. I think in winter those 4 may freeze my components :D.

I'm getting one of these just now, also need to look at adding additional fans - although I remain sceptical that more fans are required. Will let you know....

Thats a lot of airflow! (and noise!). I thing the 100 RPM idea is much better :D

More fans are not required really but if you want a cool graphics card they are. That side fan that comes with the case is very weak, i can barely feel the air on my face. Far cry from the 4 120mm fans i have, blows my hair back :D.

I see you bought digital addiction nice, how is it going so far?

Hi go for CM stacker 830 evo.;) Great case looks awesome and is huge.

I will have to strongly disagree with this. One of the worse cases i have owned.
In fact i will be selling my 830 Evo for like R800 if anyone wants it.

Will these work?

tbh I only need one powerful fan for my IOH since the temperature sits at 66 degrees centigrade and I haven't even started overclocking yet. Will I see a difference in IOH temperature?

What setup are you currently using to cool your CPU? The IOH relies on airflow from your case and/or the CPU fan to cool it. But yes, adding those fans should help the situation as long as they are mounted to direct airflow over your motherboards heatsinks obviously.

PS - IOH = input/output hub.

What is IOH?

The X58's equivalent of the Northbridge

I'm using the stock i7 cooler and the default HAF932 fan setup. I'm guessing that there will be even less airflow near the IOH if I use an aftermarket CPU cooler such as the TRUE.

Nope, the aftermarket cooler will provide you with better cooling since they generally push alot more air around which results in better cooling. And the hot air from the CPU isn't vented directly onto the motherboard either, but spread out over the area of the cooler.

The cooler you're looking at should be fine. Go here (Link) for reviews on CPU coolers, though I couldn't find the one you want to get.

Why you guys on about cooler master etc... I have two antec cases.. and one Lian ... and I dare say LIAN will kick all in design and looks... well OK i like the simplistic looks :)

and as for temps.. well ... excellent !! so far.. only had the case for 3 weeks now.

Its going well thanks, very busy - Itai has a large base of loyal customers who keep me busy! We only finalised the deal on Monday, so now we can start focusing on growing the business....

The HAF932 is an awesome case. Even though it is huge, I found it incredible how quickly it filled up! One PSU, a Coolermaster 212 plus, two GTX275s and a Sound card later, and all that space is gone!
