New coverage areas?

I can confirm that there is NO coverage in the Brackenhurst, Alberton area of Ekurhuleni. But they said they will call me as soon as they are in the area.

Hopefully by then, they will also have some better handsets/routers available as well. I am envisioning keeping my Telkom phone for landline calls, but using the Neotel for the Internet as soon as they support Ethernet connections.

btw, the number to call to check for coverage is 0800-333-636.
 
Well Mr Panday did indicate coverage would double within a month not long after they launched. Must have meant one of those hundred day months :)
 
It would appear that the coverage area is much larger than the map would indicate if you are willing to use an external aerial. Robocop seems to be using the service in Boksburg which is presumably roughly the same distance from Germiston (covered according to Neotel) as Alberton (there may even be a closer tower in Jhb).

when will neotell connect our lines in pietermaritzburg???im sick and tired of telkom and there prices!!!

Is that the Leave your details and we will contact you as soon as possible thing on their website? I did that 4 -5 months ago regarding a BUSINESS fiber connection, and wanting to get the mega internet we need to serve 1000 plus people. I am still waiting...

My area, Weltevreden park in Roodepoort is not covered either. Couldnt give me date on availability, but I am on their list.
 
My area is not covered, but I get signal, just very week and unacceptable to me. Dunkeld (getting signa from Rosebank).

How do you know that you get signal? Did you borrow a handset from someone? I know i have coverage where i am (Top floor of a flat, LOS to the WHOLE of durban), but i am like 1 road away on the neotel coverage map according to their unhelpdesk...
 
Isn't there like a coverage map, or something? If there is then either I have not been looking good enough or their website navigation leaves much to be desired....

Well i spoke to my favorite girl at the call centre and she says Neotel is going to put up the coverage map on the website. The system is under construction and will be available soon!!!!!Very soon...(I hope you told me the truth Sam)

Any word on when "soon" is?
 
Seems there are lite and prime coverage areas. I will be very upset if I'm in a lite coverage area. Neotel will have to advise what areas are only suitable for lite. I feel that lite is very overpriced.
