It will be interesting to see how/if existing customers get upgraded. I will be watching my inbox closely.
...but - if I have to upgrade and pay more than the packages advertised on their home page, I will be looking for a new ISP...
Why would they make you pay more???
Why don't you just email Laurie to get moved over?

I am on the Weekender Plus package, and I have Night Rider along with that. So far I have downloaded about 12GB worth of stuff since the month began. And my speeds during the day is flying! I still have 8.67GB left for the month, so I think this package will be better for me than an uncapped. Just about the same price, but the unshaped during the day...ah, I love it!![]()
iBurst is now giving FREE data from 0:00 to 8:00 am. I get full 120KB/sec speeds and it's possible to easily do 2.8GB daily or 84GB per month that way. It's running for the next 3 months. This offer in contrast is pretty silly in comparison.

I am a data only client - the new deals are very unattractive. R69 per GB?? Still, even after the general 'uncapping' offered by all other major players? That's pathetic. I do not torrent or play online games, so shaping is far less of an issue for me, but I could easily exhaust my paltry 3GB "data -only" cap by downloading a single 4.7GB ISO from MSDN or a digital game or two. On a baseline 384kbps line, 10 GB would cost me R587 using current advertised prices (R125 for 3 GB + 7GB @ R69/GB). That is insane and insulting with the recent changes in the market. There has been NO adjustment downwards for data only clients. None.
However, if you have your line with Cybersmart (still a Telkom line) suddenly you only pay R33/GB - in line with what everyone else is offering. I can tolerate a differential if you're 'with them' but having to pay 100% more if you're not? Yes, its unshaped - but I could still push through large amounts of data on a *shaped uncapped* 384k line over the course of a month at a lot less than R570 (certainly more than 20-30GB, particularly if not using torrente etc) . This is not serious response to the data-only offers of MWEB and Afrihost - or they treat data-only clients as second rate citizens, unlike the others.
.... If u need a cheap data only solution, clearly this isn't it. But to compare with the "uncapped" products out there is comparing apples with oranges.
Perhaps, but they have not adjusted their data-only prices one iota - while everyone else has *lowered* their capped data-only offerings. And CS's data-only prices were the reason I joined them initially - and had others join too. If they can drop their per GB rates so dramatically for one set of users, they could at least make a concession for the rest of us. Forget the capped/uncapped issue - this is simply about treating all your customers fairly, which they are not. So you are right, they are probably not for me of any of my friends - who have been waiting on me to make a recommendation.
