Why is this an Explora feature only?

Multichoice has announced two ‘big’ innovations for customers who own the DStv Explora personal video recorder

I have an old decoder where I can record 2 and watch 1 and is great when there's plenty of rugby on at the same time. My question is how long does it tak for me to get a game on catch up? Is it simultaneous?
