The Splitter would work for sure, now that means, Tuner 4 which is used in Daddy HD PVR, is combined with Tuner 2, on the Baby HD PVR, so via the splitter, you should get your 24 EPG on your I-platejust fool it
So anyone tried the splitter yet?

YOU CANT USE A SIMPLE SPLITTER ! DStv channels are either on a Vertical (VER) or Horizontal (HOR) polarisation. Hence a minimum of a twin lnb is needed. EPG is on the VER polarisation (if i'm not mistaken), so you will be forced to watch only the channels which are VER.
You might be wondering why using a multiswitch was possible with the previous HDPVR, Here's the answer:
It is not a simple splitter.
A multiswitch has a minimum of 2 lnb inputs. One for VER and the other for HOR.
It has many outputs (4,6 or 8)
The decoder requests, via the lnb cable, either VER or HOR, by sending either a 13V or 18V pulse. (one voltage for each polarisation)
The multiswitch (remember it has access to both VER and HOR) sends the correct polarisation to the decoder.
Twin LNB's is the bare minimum for a PVR setup (unless you dont want to watch channels which are HOR).
What can you do with the Ethernet and USB port on this decoder?

Just to let you guys know, went to Areasat yesterday to have the new HD PVR installed.
Final cost : R9k
Why so much?
R1999 for the box, 160m of some special cable, four hours labour (due to double story house and placement of the dish vs receiver), extra view setup, two extra tv's setup (four in total), splitter box etc. etc. etc.
CRAZY pricing!
This weekend I helped a friend move into a flat and noticed that the wall socket only had 1 connection for DSTV.
Are people that stay in flats with this setup pretty screwed when it comes to wanting a PVR?
So please explain how i'm watching ALL channels via single LNB? ie. both Vertical and Horizontal!

Crazy price? Not as crazy as paying for it
Shame man, my dad did it on his birthday yesterday, he paid for it, but was so shocked at the final price. What option do you have but to pay it? The two blokes had been up and down the roof all day.

1. You are using SATCR
2. Or you live in a complex with a communial dish that has been setup with a network setup, ie: you have to setup networks 2 - 6 on your decoder to move all horizontal channels to vertical.
No, it works with a single lnb. I have neither a SATCR nor a network setup. Stop telling lies
Is this somehow a new feature with the baby pvr ?
Yes and no, multichoice denies it, installers deny it too. But it works. Probably because they want to make the extra money...
Don't listen to this guy... The new HD decoder works off a single lnb using one cable. You can watch all channels including HD but PVR does not work (only pausing live TV). Further, the TV guide only shows the next two shows.
I have not tested a splitter but I am 90% certain that the following will work: watch and record channels which both are on either hor or vert. View TV guide while viewing a channel which is on the same polarsation. And watch any channel without recording!
