New DSTV HD Decoder

Hi, I only have 1 TV so can view one and record one. Thats all I need.
then you dont have a single lnb, (unless you can only record certain chanels)
please check your current lnb, you might actual have a twin, not a single. but to answer you other question yes you can conect a single lnb to the new hd, but will have limited functionality when it comes to recording you will only b able to record certain bouquets depending on whic chanle you watching.
if you have a twin as i suspect then you can swap to an hd and have full functionalty

BABY-PVR's are on special at HIFI-CORP this saturday between 9AM and 2PM for R1799...............

ah - right after the Opening Game, I bet they figure that everyone who was gonna bite has already done so. . . . .

HD & SD PVR Configuration question

is there a configuration assistance thread? (mod please move if so)

I have a SD PVR with the remote TV being fed by RF cable and the remote via a Remote Blaster (the inline thingy never worked)

if i get the Baby HD PVR . . . ,

I presume this will allow watch 3 record 2?
I presume the HD PVR output = HD?
can the remote TV (connected to the 2nd port on the SD) view content saved on the HD pvr?
can a tv connected to the SD pvr view hd content (downscaled) ?
can the Main TV (HD LCD connected to the HD PVR) view content on the SD PVR?

thanks

Hi, when you say a twin are you referring to twin coax cables? I have only 1 coax which goes into just one of the connections in my current PVR. Do you have any idea of what channels I'd lose?

thanks.

Answers above, you can view content from a decoder on a hundred TVs if you wanted.

depends, if for example you watching supersport you will only beable to record one of the supersport chanels, if you watching discovery chanesl you wil only be able to record one of the docie chanels.
this is not exactly curate, just using as an example

Hi there. My GF just 'upgraded' her HD PVR and now has a model that can only record 1 channel at a time. This allows severe recording conflicts in the house. Ethernet, USB and e-SATA are STILL disabled. They've removed features that were available in their original contract. How can consumers just sit back and accept this? I would honestly refuse this decoder flatout and demand they provide me with an upgrade that provides identical or improved features.

So give it back to MC and cancel your contract if you don't like it... MC don't give a rats rear end about your opinion or what you want, because you don't know.. they do.

She should ask for 2 HDPVR-2P decoders :)
