For all Figo fans; there is a few on MyBB; the new Figo is out in SA.

- New Figo hatch and Sedan
- 1.5-litre petrol & diesel engines
- Available in SA from 'middle October'

The Figo uses two four-cylinder 1.5 litre engines: a 77kW/138Nm petrol and 74kW/215Nm diesel. The petrol version has a claimed fuel consumption of 5.6 litres/100km, the diesel unit is capable of 4.1 litres/100km.

Both engines are mated to a five-speed manual while a six-speed PowerShift Auto is available for the 1.5 Titanium (both hatchback and sedan).

Three trim and equipment levels are available: Ambiente, Trend and Titanium.

Ambiente: includes both body styles and engine choices.

• Body-coloured bumpers and rear fog lights
• Tinted-windows
• Aircon
• Bluetooth-enabled, four-speaker audio system with USB and Aux inputs.
• Driver and passenger airbags.

Trend (adds to the Ambiente spec):

• Colour-coded door handles
• 14" alloy wheels
• Front fog lamps
• Electric mirrors
• Electric front and rear windows
• 60/40 split for rear seats (hatch model only)

Titanium:

• Climate control
• Ford SYNC with Bluetooth and voice control.
• Steering-wheel mounted audio controls
• ESP with hill-launch assist (Titanium PowerShift models)

Should be a big seller in SA but it just looks rather pricey this time round...

My choice? An excellent condition 2nd hand top line EcoBoost Fiesta

if its sexy why not?
that front look has always been the thing that has made me like the figo more than the Fiesta.(no offence intended OP, talking about the car not you :D)

but it still has the same problem. that 4 wheels rather than 2 thing, the no lane splitting laws.
I will stick to 2 wheels thank you. but the SO might like this one, she was looking at Ford to replace her current car....

Pricing on this car is terrible.

I agree a fiesta is a better buy.

I watched a review on the new ford figo and apparently the steering wheel feedback isnt the norm that you expect from a ford. The figo's steering wheel feels numb and doesnt provide the driver with enough feedback.

Dash looks like a bit like a cruzes one
 
Yeah man no Cruze...its pretty much the same dash used in all recent Ford products bar the Fusion.

Think Fiesta; Focus; B-Max; Transit etc.

The Figo will still sell well - front end looking really good,

BUT, be quick and rather buy a Fiesta Ambiente for R167k which has 2yrs longer service plan: FIESTA PROMO.JPG

Even if you intend buying for cash, do the finance with Ford Credit (to get the special price), pay an installment and then settle the deal. R30k saving just like that and you get the full SYNC system!

That looks like a good buy but you can purchase a year old 1.0 ecoboost auto for minimum R170 000.

The value of ecoboost will be worth more than the 1.4 in the long term.

Rand Dollar to blame. Paid R400k for a Ranger XLT January 2014 - now R467k (17% increase in 18 months) and they are made locally

Imported products much harder hit

Turbos and long term? Guess it depends on what your long term is... 5 vs 10 years?
 
Crazy expensive, but the lower spec models will compete with the Vivo i guess. I'd rather bite the bullet and buy the real deal, the Fiesta, oh wait, already did :D
